We stayed at Villa Garance for 4 nights and had a lovely time, the owners and staff where very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them, the riad is clean, and has a lot of character and colour, it has a lovely roof terrace and is well located in the Medina, it also has a very playful cat,... more

This Riad is lovely, very homely with a definite female touch. The decoration had been well thought out, room was small (room 6) but perfectly formed and kept clean each day with a large comfortable bed. We were on the 1st floor and had balcony doors which opened so we could watch the street below. There is a school opposite,... more

A wonderful riad run by a delightful team. The hotel is beautifully decorated in a gentle morrocan style that ouzes calmness and serenity. The staff are deligtful and cope well with bumbling "english" french. Mint tea is on tap and always delivered with a smile. Great location with a 5 minute walk to anywhere you would want to go. more

This is a very nice property - the owners and staff are lovely, they have cosy fires going in winter, the rooms are well decorated and clean with nice bathrooms, and it is very centrally located. The only real negative is that there is a school opposite, so the rooms at the front can be noisy during the day, but... more

A riad in all but name... Great value, we deliberately opted for the cheapest room (number 5) which suffered slightly from a lack of natural light but we thought it was well furnished and were very comfortable there. €45 per night. Efficiently run by French women, who also speak English so don't worry if your French isn't fluent. Nice breakfast... more

This is a really nice place to stay - charming inside, really carefully decorated - the inner courtyard part of the riad is lovely. The terrace is windy, but hey this is Essaioura! Really nice breakfast - in fact one of the best from our trip after 2 weeks of endless basic bread and jam. I was very pleased to... more

This riad is in a very good location, has clean, attractive and good-sized rooms and very friendly staff. The French owners are also very helpful and welcoming. Essaouira is very humid but the room never smelled of damp (like some other riads). Also, riads are not usually very private becuse of the layout of the buildings but this one was... more

Located centrally in the medina. A handcart will take your luggage there from the carpark outside the walls or to the bus station. We stayed in a suite on the upper terrace - great for relaxing and breakfast served to us there. A lovely experience of a riad. Friendly and helpful owners and we enjoyed a family evening meal with... more

Villa Garance is situated in a small street off one of the main streets of the Medina. The riad has quite a few rooms (about 10 or so) so the feel is in between that of a hotel and that of a guest house. The service was perfect, and staff were very kind and friendly. The place is beautifully decorated,... more
