Spent 4 nights at the Sahara in Dec. Its in a great central situation so a short walk from the entrance to the medina. This was the first trip to Morocco so was all very exciting. The hotel felt very Moroccan ... it was quite dark in entrance and stairs. Rooms are situated on the inside of the hotel with... More

This was our first holiday to Essaouira and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel was beautiful and the weather was amazing. The staff and the local community were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were maintained very well and were cleaned everyday with rose petals on the beds. Around the hotel the garden were scenic and well maintained and very... More

When we arrived in Essaouira, we found easily the Hotel Sahara; from the outside, it looked very nice, with beautiful decoration, strong wi-fi signal, and a big menu from the Sahara restaurant. After the check-in, we went to our room and it was smelly and really dirty, with hairs in the bed and the floor full of dust, really nasty... More

very strong smell in room. disappointing at first as there was no toilet paper and 1 towel was missing, though we asked for these things and got them. the staff was very nice helpful and welcoming and the location is great. overall, it seemed cozy by the end but would only stay there for 1 night.

The place is dirty, but I understand that partially this is due to the moist air and sand stroms in the area. The bed was comfortable, so not objections there. The bathroom however, was in no way comfortable or clean. I think they had messed up with some cleaning chemicals so that all the taps were really nasty feeling. We... More

This hotel is like one big run down derelict building.. There was literally no other guests, room size was fine, but was filthy, cockroaches all over the room, shower was like something you'd find in an outhouse in the outback of Western Australia. Really, place needs to be demolished and rebuilt,.. They had no breakfast, cafe across the street was... More

The placing of the hotel is very good, so is the decoration. My room was spacy, and there's where the positive impression stops. The door doesn't close, unless you lock the door. The bathroom can be used, when you love showering cold water. Complains have to be made 4 times before any action is undertaken. The first promise lead to... More

I had an opportunity to spend 4 days in Sahara hotel which turned out to be a perfect place - very quiet but located at the same time in the very centre of the city, between medina and the beach. The whole hotel has a nice Moroccan style, rooms are big enough with lovely deco while very cheap, and finally... More

Was a really pleasant stay in a clean room with bathroom. Fast wifi, roof terrace and great location just next to the tower clock. Minutes from the beach and meters from the medina. Common room with tables and a huge tv downstairs. The hotel well looked after.

As a veteran traveller in Maroc I have used Hotel Sahara for about a decade and will long continue, Inshallah! It used to to be quite budget with a slightly sinister "Sddenly Last summer" ethos about it and provided a no-nonsense tartine petit dejeuner once upon a time but alas no longer. Sahara has had a major and quite endearing... More
