We went to the white sands for a 2 week holiday in May 2006. This was our 2nd visit to the Maldives and were slightly disappointed having previously stayed at Meedhupparu before the White Sands seemed to have let itself go . It is also split into two very distinct half’s the old and the new, the water villas and... more

This was our second visit to White Sands, a medium class resort, with a nice beach, good service and lovely people We had seen some of the reviews mentioned building work so we checked it out via our travel agent and were told it was all done - sadly this wasn’t true, currently half the island is closed while they... more

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this year and opted to go to the White Sands resort in the Maldives. We travelled from Male airport to White Sands via seaplane and it was a great experience flying over all the islands together with seeing the beautiful colours. I would recommend the seaplane rather than the boat transfer... more

Myself and my wife stayed at white sands for our honeymoon and loved it. We stayed in one of the water bungalows which if unlike anything I've stayed in before (How often to you sleep in a house on sticks in the sea !!!). Staff were fantastic and were more than happy to help with anything. We had a wedding... more

1st time in the Maldives.. Upon arriving at the resort, were just astounded at the beauty & tranquility surrounding us. Greeted with a welcome drink, we were promptly escorted to our water bungalow, upon entering the wooden structure we found a huge canopied bed, an unoverlooked deck area & satellite tv showing numerous films. On the down side, no tea... more

We went on our honeymoon Dec 2006. The Island is amazing. The water is so clear you don't even need the snorkling gear to see the fish! Although we booked for our honeymoon, they gave us a semidetached water bungalow instead of a detached one which was annoying as they are only separated by a thin wooden wall with adjoining... more

We booked our trip at very short notice, but felt confident about going to the Maldives as work colleagues had been to other islands and raved about the beauty and tranquility. As this was our honeymoon, I wanted it to be really special, but also with diving school for my husband and spa for me. We were not disappointed -... more

We went here on our honeymoon, my husband and I have been to the Maldives 5 times before (between us) - this was very disappointing compared to other islands. The lagoon is very shallow so we scraped our knees on the dead coral below. The tides are very strong under the water bungalow which makes swimming difficult if not dangerous.... more

We stayed in a water bungalow at the White Sands resort and it was definately worth it. The sea plane took us to our resort and it really is paradise, we were amazed, the pictures in the brochures do not do this island justice. The staff were brilliant and were able to help us with anything we needed. The restaurant... more

We stayed in the water rooms, wonderfull. lovey room, lovely place. nice staff. Diving was "o.k" and the local reef was not much to look at but otherwise the food was realy good. We will be going back one day! (not a cheap holiday) paradise is the only way I could discribe.... enjoy your trip more
