Marine biologist excellent. Ron, the resort manager and his wife were good. Island better than many other islands I suspect. Water 'plane was good but late arrival. Dive team were good. Many problems with booking resort, but they accepted their errors and tried to make up those. It wasted much of our time though. Just be warned- "all-inclusive" is prob... More

My husband and I stayed at Maafushivaru for our honeymoon in March 2014. It was an truly unforgettable experience. We stayed 10 nights in Paradise, we picked the AI package. Planning our honeymoon was a hectic experience, we needed to get many special documents for my husband's medicines, but when our seaplane (after a long trip) finally touched the water... More

My Husband and I stayed at Maafushivaru for our honeymoon in June, following a crazy 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. As soon as we arrived we knew we'd made the right choice for our second honeymoon destination and for somewhere to relax after Sri Lanka. Here's some of the things we LOVED and why this place is so special: -... More

My husband and I stayed for 6 nights at Maafushivaru as part of our honeymoon and wow, what a fantastic place!! It had been a busy year with work, uni and arranging a huge wedding so we were in much need of peace and relaxation and as soon as we stepped off the little boat onto the island and were... More

Stayed at Maafushivaru and at Shangri-La within the same trip. Comparing our time at the two resorts, Maafushivaru is a 3 star compared to 5 star Shangri-La. The good thing about Maafushivaru is the clear blue waters and the fine white sand. The not so good thing is the mediocre quality of the resort. The water villas are basic and... More

My wife and I have just returned from 6 days on Maafushivaru and needless to say we're already dreaming about when we could return. Within 30 seconds of stepping onto the dock from our Dhoni I'd already forgotten what day of the week it was, let alone any of life's other concerns. Maafushivaru is relaxing in the best possible way.... More

Our 3rd visit to Maafushivaru, and although it's only 4.5 stars, if should be five! It is a friendly, relaxed, peaceful island, where they don't want to keep cleaning your sunglasses! It is clean, well organised, with plenty of reasonably priced trips to take out. Returners have a free candlelit dinner on the beach, and discounts on bottles of wine.The... More

I stayed there 3 nights in water villa, The size and condition of the villa is reasonable good but not excellent. The price is still acceptable with the package of FB. As there is a distance from the resort to Male, cost of water plane need to be considered. The restaurant and bar are also OK but still don't feel... More

This was a birthday celebration for my partner and boy did I do well! The flight out from Singapore on a budget airline was actually not too bad and after we landed at Male, the adventure began. The seaplane journey was outstanding, but a bit warm and sweaty, with great views suggeting whats to come. landing in the sea and... More

We came here at the end of June to July 4th for 8 days as part of our honeymoon. Wow! The island is beautiful. Around every corner is a view that could come straight out of a travel brochure (with no photo shopping!). The water was crystal clear and a perfect turquoise and the beach was pure white. We chose... More
