This hotel said 5 star at internet, but this is only between 2 and 3 stars. Pool area, sunbeds, sunshades is in a horrible conditions. Poolbar is closed. Spa threatment is moved to Damai Beach hotel. Lack of mantnance everywhere. Prices is to high compare to what you got. It was only the staff at the hotel that lightning up... More

It was relatively quiet when I was there which I liked. Loved the view from my room and the infinity pool. There is a row of poolside benches facing the beach. On a cool sunny day, it's lovely to relax there. The food at the restaurants at the resort is decent. The hotel should put more effort in maintaining it's... More

The hotel itself has lots of potential to be excellent, however... we wouldn't stay here again. 1. its isolated, which limits food options. 2. the ocean is not crystal clear... quite muddy, which made me not want to swim around 3. the pool wasn't cleaned often enough, we had a grimey feeling after getting out, like a film gets stuck... Spent a week at this resort, a mixture of very good location, huge resort, Malaysian national day celebrations, plenty of people in the pool but eating by ourselves in a beautiful restaurant called Ku and fed great food by chefs. Mostly well looked after by the serving staff but they were not well trained in serving non Malaysians. Stayed in... More

Slow service at check in counter and the cafe. Room is clean but some cupboards handle is loose. The most not sastifiying service is at the pool towel shack.. Although i had my room card i still can't get a towel for my baby. All because I don't have the stupid yellow card for the towel that suppose to be... More

Very dated and worn requires a serious upgrade, staff need training, but then again nothing is ever open so there is nothing for them to do, ( why is the place so dirty then????). Will not go again & would advise nobody else does until it's tidied up.

We went expecting a fantastic stay given the idyllic setting. The views are incredible but the hotel is really dated, and in good need of repair. The rooms are dirty, the laundry torn, the pool smells of fish and the staff are just not up to it. They are poorly trained and have not the first idea about customer service.... More

A great, sprawling resort in an idyllic setting but with some facilities closed and others run by poorly trained staff. It is quite a spectacular resort, largely open-planned with its own private, pristine beach and big swimming pool. The surrounding area is largely forest. There are good nature walks and Irrawaddy Dolphin spotting but you need to go further afield... More

We were unsure of whether to book the rooms at Damai or at Permai, and chose the latter. Are we glad we did! After settling down at Permai, we walked down to Damai to get some lunch and check out the facilities. The restaurant, pool and cafe was closed for renovation and we couldn't grab even a coffee. It was... More

All is not doom and gloom but the place just needs sprucing up here and there. .. not talking major outlay in some areas either ie replacing attap (leaf) roof on shelters near the pool which are wrecked , lick of paint here and there. .. One very positive note is their restaurant 'ku' ... average price per dish rm... More
