This is the perfect place to unwind for a few days. It's an easy 40 min drive from Kuching, and it's incredibly relaxing and peaceful. It's a simple hotel but a lot of care and love has gone into its set up and decoration, and it was full of beautiful artwork from local artists. The rooms were lovely (we stayed... More

The Village House is an easy and traffic-free 40-45 minute drive from Kuching at the foot of Mount Santubong. It's absolutely beautiful - it's clear the owners have put tremendous thought and effort into creating a relaxing little oasis, and they've accomplished as much. The grounds are beautiful - very green and very relaxing with a luxury, boutique-y feel -... More

We rested in the Village House in September 2014 Unfortunately, we do not speak very well in English. We loved the hotel. Quiet, comfortable place where you can really relax from the worries. Fine cuisine! The chef prepared a special diet menus at our request. Competent and responsive staff. Especially impressed by the good Aliffa. We made friends with her.... More

I would echo all the previous reviews. Yes this place is out of the way, and in a completely different spot to the big resorts in Damai. But that is exactly the reason for choosing it, it's very intimate and relaxing, there's no kids around and you feel like you're experiencing something closer to Malaysian culture. We didn't find the... More

This small hotel is one of nicest we stayed in while in Sarawak. Our arrival was also odd as we were given a barrage of rules as our welcome, from a very efficient hotelier who was very friendly and welcoming after we checked in. The young waiter was very good and he tried to manage the hospitality functions single handedly.... More

The Village House is north of Kuching in Santubong penninsula. It is not easy to find. We hired a car with satnav. The satnav couldn't get signal and neither could google maps. We asked several locals and found it down an unmarked road behind an unmarked gate. It is a secret hideaway! Once you have found it you will appreciate... More

This hotel is everything the reviews make out - nice atmosphere, very relaxing, good food, lovely pool, great areas for chilling out. The even do a pretty good mojito and a very nice pina colada made with fresh pineapple. We had a Rajah room which costs more, but comes with a large sitting area, a TV and private terrace with... Me and my wife stayed there for 3 days, the first days of our honeymoon. It was one of the best accommodation of our Malaysian trip, it was super! Very relaxing and quiet! The staff was very helpful and the food is very good. The room is simple but very cool and romantic, the bath clean and... most of all... More

We stayed here for a few days whilst in Borneo on a recommendation. It is a beautiful & chilled place to stay with high standards; if you're willing to pay the extra for the larger rooms it's definitely worth it. The staff organised our trips for us & gave good advice, which helped us make the most of our time... More

We stayed in this hotel for two nights after our interesting visit to the Iban people in the jungle. We really could relax in this hotel as it is such a quite place. The hotel has a nice small pool and some little areas around the pool to sit. The rooms are very nice and quite big. Unfortunately there is... More
