We booked only 3 nights in the Village House and I wish I could stay elsewhere First impression is great, but... 1. You will "cool down" very quickly as you will be offered a welcome cup of tea near a bar and presented with property rules - what you cannot do An experience of presenting was terrible 2. For breakfast... More

I usually don't write extensive reviews about the hotels I stay in. I have to make an exception this time. The hotel is probably one of the most atmospheric places I have ever stayed at and our stay could have been perfect if the service had been better. After what we have experienced I have to give an overall poor... More

We stayed in April, trip with my mother. This hotel was a little further out but they were so great at helping to arrange transport and packages before we arrived: orang utans, bake national park etc. The hotel was small, simple, clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful, but what was most surprising was the food! It was delicious,... More

We have been to the Village House a few times. We keep going back because it is the perfect place to take in the Sarawak vibe. Beautiful rooms, great food (must try the Taste of Borneo tasting menu), but most of all a great group of people that run the place. We always feel at home and amongst friends while... More

Don't be shock when you enter the room as the room is quite small. The room is clean and bed is comfortable and big. Also, the place is suitable for couples visit as it is really quiet and we felt relaxed and intimated because of the nice ambiance. Staffs were friendly and drinks was served once we arrived. Breakfast a... More

The Village House is a nice location in a beautiful environment, quite far away from crowded Kuching. It all started with a taxi driver who did not know where to drive - the Village House is not that easy to find in case you don't have someone who already knows where it is located. So we helped the taxi driver... More

We stayed for 3 nights in July. The location is isolated, but for us it was great. The rooms were clean. However during the day the aircon struggled and the rooms were quite warm. There is also no safe in the room. We did the "taste of Borneo" which was a 10 course degustation which was great. Food and drink... More

The village house is a very small hotel (about 10 rooms) in the Kuching Wetlands area of Sarawak. It felt very intimate and relaxed, almost like a homestay. The rooms are beautiful with 4 poster beds and bathrooms with rain showers. What is striking is how clean the rooms and bathroom were, considering it is surrounded by jungle. The pool... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of honeymooning in the village house santubong and absolutely loved our stay. The staff were outstanding and incredibly entertaining, as well as going the extra mile to make sure that our stay was as memorable as possible. The decor of the hotel was stunning, and it was incredibly chilled out. Trip highlights =... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and I wish I had booked for longer. When I left I felt so peaceful, content and relaxed. The rooms are very comfortable with excellent pillows and a lovely firm mattress. The gentle soothing sound of running water is like living beside a soft waterfall. It was so tranquil. I have a gluten allergy... More
