We stayed 2 nights in March 2014. We did not select this hotel, it was selected by our tour operator (Borneo Adventures). The breakfast was okay -- not terrible and not great. The WIFI was painfully slow and unreliable. The room was dirty, sad, minimal. Stiff, hard bed.

This is an older hotel with pretty spacious rooms in a good location by the river. A musty smell in the corridor was unpleasant but not a big deal and the cleanliness of the room could have been improved, particularly behind furniture and out-of-the-way places. Breakfast was fair with a modest selection and the coffee was pretty ordinary. We attended... More

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour. The hotel rooms themselves may no longer be as they were when brand new but they were clean, comfortable and had exactly what was needed to satisfy our needs. We were lucky enough to get a room with views over the river and on a higher level. Just make sure... More

I stayed here on business and had a nice stay. The staff are very helpful and always wanted a chat. The hotel lobby is a bit strange - it doesnt feel like a lobby at all. The rooms were built to an extremely high standard but have been left to degrade over the years with a couple of things falling... More

Wasn't expecting much for a large, regular hotel located in the centre of town but was pleasantly surprised by the level of personal attentiveness displayed by the concierge and doorman who gave good advice on where to eat around the area and helping us book the day tours. The room was clean and spacious for a twin room and even... More

The room was great, the service was Good. My only problem is that the shower head is stuck at a high speed squirt pattern and shower tap can only turn one way cold to hot and low to high volume at the same time. Meaning I cannot get low stream hot shower .... Everything else is perfect

I was here so a seminar happening around town so wanted a convenient place to stay. First of all, here is my experience; I had to book a room via telephone because my credit card was not working, thus 'missing out' on their so-called best price. A simple call to the hotel and I found out booking via phone costs... More

Formerly the Crowne Plaza, this hotel has now lost its affiliation to that management company and is run by the owning company, apparently the local government. That says it all really, as in my considerable experience hotels that opened as part of an internationally respected chain, and then decided to "go it alone" usually have done so because the owners...
