Best guesthouse breakfast I've ever had, literally had some home made apple pastry thing plus eggs, great. Location is great. Price is great. Only criticism is that it wasn't really a social place at all, but who knows could just be my luck.

Made lots of good lovely guests at the guesthouse, Frankie make dinner for everyone to get everyone together then everyone sitting on their own with their laptop or iphone. A very lovely place, well centralized, food, bar, supermarket, all nearby, very convenience. Thank you, Frankie for waking up early to make breakfast for us and organizing us a trip to... More

Good things first: -Common areas like kitchen and TV room are spacious and light, therefore really comfortable -Apart from the usual toast and jam for breakfast you get cereals, bread pudding, muffins, omelette, pancakes,... every day there is something new which is really amazing Now the not-so-good-things: -The rooms are small, dark and the walls do not close up with... Why do you say sorry if you think you are right. Why do you extend the stay when you say you want to check out. If you are not satisfy, you can always leave, but instead of checking out, you extend, because you are greedy and inconsiderate towards others. When you lie, you put the blame to others. You were... We stayed here for a few nights recently. Airport pick up was arranged via email to the owner, Frankie, which was handy having a driver wait for us and take us straight to the hostel for a reasonable price. When we checked in, we were told that the price on booking.com was incorrect and should have been higher, but we... More

Someone would not dare to smile at you or talk to you when show an unfriendly look. If you have a happy heart, good feeling, friendly, the instinct will reflect. If you are unhappy, you see everyone unhappy. More

staying in the Nook is the whole package. Roomy common areas, great kitchen (where people actually cook together) and quiet sleeping rooms. Franky (the host) is incredibly helpful and she often arranges tours or might even cook for you. In my experience it was the perfect place for an independent traveller.

We just had an awesome stay at the Nook with the crazy, goodhearted, excellent hostess Frankie. From the moment we got there she was very helpful, suggesting places to eat and visit. She even invited us along to a trek with a local trekking group which was great fun. Frankie took care of us for the whole week and we... More

A place where you can feel like home and meet other travellers! Me and my partner went to Kuching for the Rainforest World Music Festival and ended up staying a couple of extra days because we enjoyed our stay so much! The owner Franky is awesome! Superfriendly and helpful. She arranged transfers for us with a taxi from the airport... More

Our family spent a week in Franky's care, in which time she devised the most magnificent, the most magical mystery tour we could imagine. The Nook is a safe, comfortable and very affordable home in the heart of Kuching, but it is Franky's magnificent heart and her intimate knowledge of the nature, culture and people of Sarawak that, if you... Upon our arrival we were met by the owner who seemed nice enough and were shown to our rooms and were told she would bring blankets etc later when she'd washed them. She never brought them. Our room was small with two twin bunk beds, the sheets were dirty and there was rubbish on the floor. There was no privacy... More

There are 20 guests at the guesthouse, how many of them do you talk to. You mess and throw all your rubbish on the bed, put the ice-cream on the sheet. You and your friend (girl) were very rude to Malcolm and the wife when they ask you where you got the shoe, by not answering them. Any guesthouse would... More
