I had a great time staying at Marco Polo's in Kuching. I ended up extending my stay so I was there just over 1 week. The owners are great people who are very helpful to first time visitors. Breakfast is provided, and it's more than the typical hostel fare of a loaf of white bread with some butter. You feel... More

Marco Polo is a very nice hostel. First the staff is very friendly. Samual is a very funny host and he is very exicted about the city and its surroundings. We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom (towels included). Both the room and bathroom were very clean. Breakfast is included and was excellent compared to other hostels (they... More

<copied & pasted my own review from another service> We loved everything! Even this small thrill factor at the very beginning - when we drove by and saw the bleak entrance we were not sure if that was a good idea. Boy, were we wrong. The place inside is really large (nothing as the entry would suggest), nothing short of... More

Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff, excellent free wi-fi, clean rooms with A/C, nice fanned balcony for chilling out and chatting with other travellers/owners, delicious breakfast, location ok - in Chinatown (20 min walk from downtown but with bus/van stop just outside the building). Strongly recommended!

Marco polo was our base to visit Kuching and it's surroundings for over one week. From the minute we walked in we knew it was the right choice as we were shown around by Drev. Georgette, Sam and Drev are wonderful people to make sure that you feel really at home. Georgette does a brilliant job making a different breakfast... More

I think i just need to repeat the words the other reviewers wrote. Its clean, airconditioned, the owners are very nice and are interested in what you are going to do or what you have done. After missing the bus (or shouod i say the bus didnt show up in the two hours i was waiting) they recommended a taxi... More

Marco Polo's excellent reviews are definitely well-deserved. Our room and the facilities were impeccably clean, and I think that there are more than enough toilets/shower stalls for the guests. We were free to use the kitchen, the fridge and the utensils as we please. Breakfast was self-serve (toast, jam, sweet breads, local fruits, hot beverage). You can purchase soft drinks... More

We chose this place based on the excellent reviews and were pleased it lived up to its reputation. It is located a 15 minute drive from the airport on a road with lots of cheap eateries. We ate at Top Spot one night which was en rote to the river. It is not far to the waterfront (10mins) and about... More

STAY HERE!!! Sam and Jen, the owners are lovely and always good conversation. We learnt many things about the city, the culture and cuisine from them! It's in a really good location, only 20 minutes walk to the centre and there's loads of cheap places to eat nearby. The breakfast is cooked up fresh daily! There's plenty of choice too;... More

I took an evening flight to Kuching and arrived past midnight. Someone was still able to assist with my late check-in and immediately showed me my bed. I spent three nights for the Rainforest World Music Festival and I've already expected that it'll be packed. The dorm room was pretty decent for it's price and I shared it with 7... More
