Stayed with Marco Polo mixed dorm for 4 nights and then returned for another night before I flew out from Kuching. Have to say it is one of the best value for money guesthouses I have ever stayed. Good location (10mins walk to waterfront/main bazaar/carpenter street, located near the main gate cat statue of Jalan Padungan, 5mins away from the... More

I've stayed at this guesthouse several times, and every time I do I have a great time. It is clean, the owners (Samuel and Georgette) are great and it is centrally located near the big cat statue and gate to Chinatown. It is within easy walking distance to the Kuching waterfront and right near many amazing restaurants. Every time I... More

Marco Polo's is one of those old-style, congenial guest houses that gets all the basics right. It is spacious, spotless, the mattresses are good, the bunk beds don’t wobble, there are plenty of bathrooms and a pleasant verandah in the back where much-better-than-you-could-hope-for breakfast is served. A kitchen too. It is located in a relaxed neighborhood on the edge of... More

The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Uncle there give us a lot of advices on where to eat and what to see. The room is cozy and tidy. Breakfast is included and very good. Tea is served all the day. This is a hostel makes Kuching more attractive.

What a wonderful place! We spent a week here while we were in Kuching, and the family was always helpful and full of great advice about places to see and cheap transport. The breakfast was always delicious and the guesthouse had a great, familial feel to it. One of our absolute favourites. As other reviewers have said, the only downside... More

My stay at this guesthouse was great! Very clean and tidy. It was quiet at night. It's located out of town but in a not so touristy place which for me was a good point. Staff were friendly and helped me find accommodation for my next stop. Breakfast was ample and varied. Highly recommended!

First, all of the positive comments you have read about this place are true. Sam and Gorgette (the owners) are incredibly friendly people and treat their guests really well. They went out of their way to make me feel at home and helped me organise tours, transportation - and just gave me a lot of useful information in general. The... More
