We found the Grand Margherita pretty charming, and a good value for the price. Their breakfast buffet was excellent with a nice mix of western and local foods to try. They have recently renovated rooms, and we got one with a king sized bed which was pretty nice. Our main complaint was the amount of street noise that came through... More

This hotel has seen better days. But it is still a classic 1970s style grand hotel. It has all those good amenities that go with SE Asian hotels of this vintage. The swimming pool is a ripper. It's perfect for relaxing and set right next to the Sarawak river. River-facing rooms also have great views of the river. This hotel... More

I stayed for business in this hotel for three nights and four days. Everything seemed to be fine until I found a very big cockroach in the room. I informed the manager, but when I came back in the evening it was still in the room. Complained again and they upgraded me to a club rooms. The club rooms are... More

The appearance of the building may look deceivingly old but the interior is totally refurbished. The room is cozy, clean and spacious. One probably would not find a more centrally located hotel in Kuching. Walking distance to most landmarks. Be sure to dine at the famous seafood hawker center right opposite the hotel. Great overall ambiance and experience. Will definitely... More

We had a brilliant stay here with our 2 kids aged 4 and 6. We stayed for about 6 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast divine and the location just lovely. We loved the pool and went on a couple of tours organised by the hotel. Highly recommend this place for families as... More

We spent 5 nights here In January. It is a pleasant hotel and rooms are spacious and theA/C works ver well. The staff were very friendly especially the lady in the tour office. We only had breakfast in the hotel which was an extensive buffet, but the hot food could have been a bit warmer. It is centrally located on the... More

We stayed in this hotel in October 2014. The hotel is located next to the river and a few shopping malls as well as the outside food stall market 'Top Spot'. It is also in a walking distance to the museums, Chinese street and Pink Mosque. The hotel is a bit outdated, feels like 60s, but it still is comfortable... More

Staff were very helpful, checkin easy, view from riverfront room was excellent. The breakfast was very good as it offered a large range of Asian and Western foods. Unfortunately this hotel is aging, and it shows. Grubby-looking carpets, poor standard of cleanliness in bathroom, broken fixtures, etc., did not ruin my stay, but did not do the hotel any favours

I stayed here for 3 nights on the last week of december 2015. The good things about this hotel are: 1. The service was good. Checked in and checked out were fast and efficient. 2. Attentive customer service, they responded to my request promptly. 3. Breakfast was not too bad. But this hotel is old and aged. The room showed... More
