Our stay at KuraKura Homestay was the highlight of our 4 weeks holidays in Malaysia. We stayed 2 nights ( 3 days) with our 2 adult sons and enjoyed every minute. Lars picked us up at our hotel in Kuching and drove us to the market to do some shopping. The homestay can only be reached by boat and 2... More

This was a great way to spend a few days surrounded by jungle. Lisa is a great cook and there was always plenty of great, freshly cooked food. She also took us walking through the jungle to pick vegetables and herbs for dinner, also pointing out many other plants and their medicinal properties. The house is nice with broad verandahs.... Great experience, beautifull house in The jungle. Jungle trek with Lars and jungle shopping with Lisa is Great. If you dont feel like taking a shower in morning, just jump in The river. Make sure To take appropriate clothing. Slippers To walk in water and long pants if going in jungle

Looking back at our around the world trip: Kurakura definitely was one of our highlights. When we made a reservation some months before we arrived we were advised that early Jan is still rainy season. Well, in the rainforest we usually expect (some) rain so we went. And we had quite a lot of rain indeed! Which became part of... More

Lars and Lisa were wonderful hosts. Lisa is a fantastic cook, with ingredients from the surrounding jungle garden. Lars is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the surrounding jungle and treks. We had a wonderful picnic lunch after coming through a cave in an wonderful tranquil setting. The rooms are very clean. You go for the whole experience. Although we were there... More

We'd read great things about this homestay in the jungle and our expectations were exceeded. If you're expecting to stay clean and dry, perhaps this isn't the trip for you (at least not in the wet season, when we went). However, the house itself is clean and dry, and the rooms comfortable but minimalistic. The highlights for us were of... More

took the 3 days 2 nights package in Nov with Lars and Lisa, I was the only guest during the stay with the great famly I really enjoyed the peaceful and natural environment away from the bustling city and tourist resort. Liza is a wonderful cook, I just can't help missing the Kamponak (durian paste) she prepared with the durian... More

I chose to visit here to show my husband a different side of Malaysia than he would encounter in KL. We stayed for 2 nights and I think we should have booked for longer! We were picked up from the airport and travelled to the homestay via the market which was interesting to see. The boat trip was good and... More

Everything good has already been written by previous visitors. The only thing I can add is that unfortunately I came down with a fever on my first day. Despite this, the rest of my family had an awesome experience. Even though I was lying under my mozzie net for the best part of 4 days, I could hear everyone chatting... More
