Overall: rustic, rooms are a bit musty, a weird mixture of Chinese and ethnic design - great location (but so is everything in Kuching as it's a really tiny city) 5 TV channel, only BBC news in English - Aircon goes cold or very cold If you want an extra blanket or pillow, you have to pay 4 and 3... This hotel has a fantastic location on the Main Bazaar, just across the road from the river. All the staff are very, very friendly and helpful. The communal areas are really cool - there's a lovely courtyard in the middle of the building and a big, well-equipped kitchen (although we didn't use it as there are many good, cheap restaurants... Owners were friendly and very helpful, the room had all necessities shower with soap, toilet with toilet paper, clean bed and even a TV. Though most rooms were occupied it wasn't noisy. Breakfast was minimal but so was the price. Chilled Water was available 24hrs for free which is amazing. It's cheaper to book directly with them, you get a... More

I like the setting of the hotel. its classic and the woods structure is pleasing. The furniture, the lobby, room setting, those remind me my hometown. Dont rely on the supplied soap. Bring your own toiletries.

We spent four nights in this cozy place. It was very hot in Borneo but each room got AC and bathroom so we felt quiet comfortable when we went back to our room after traveling all day, discovering Sarawak attractions. The Hostel is just in front of Kuching's waterfront where we found it was really magic every evening, just sitting... More

I didnt enjoy my stay in this lodging. The rooms are old and musty, very small n creepy. I only stayed one night and had to move out to better hotel. Really discouraging you guys out there from staying here unless you are really desperate. Its really sad

The staff are simply lovely, every time you come or go they have a big smile and friendly word for you. The room is basic but clean, great air con and a very big, firm bed. Breakfast is just toast, some fruit would be nice. Location on main bazaar is perfect, right by the river and one street away from... More

Recommended to stay at this lodge right in the centre of the historic Kuching town centre by a local friend. Formerly a more than 100 year old shophouse, renovated and turned into a lodge a few years ago. Very nicely maintained and staff are very helpful with personal touch. The lodge is along the internationally famous Main Bazaar street specialising... More

Every time we switched on the air-con, the whole hotel had no electricity! So in the end we had to find another hotel. The hotel charged us RM50 transaction fee plus 3 nights' stay on the credit card for not staying in the hotel at all!
