Though it wasn't busy season, I had a great stay here. Calum and Georgie were awesome hosts and were able to help me out with whatever I needed - food, travel plans, transport, and everything in between! They even took us out to dinner a few times and taught me how to beat them at the card game version of... More

I initially booked 2 nights here but ended up staying for 7 nights! The owner Ben is very helpful when looking for things to do with a good knowledge of the local area and ideas on how to make the most of your time in kuching, at the time they had a couple of volunteers helping out and they were... We stumbled upon Borneo Seahare after enquiring about the bike tours downstairs(which I would also highly recommend.) We saw there was a guesthouse upstairs, and the interesting decor drew us in. It didn't stop at the stairs. This guesthouse is like nothing I have come across on my travels, with beanbags and sofas, to lampshades made out of pliers. It was... More

I booked just one night at Seahare hostel, but stayed 10 days! It's such a relaxing and friendly vibe, it feels like home. The commmon area is like one big living room with a nice couch and a bunch of DVD's. Best place to meet new people. The location is great, in the neighborhood of the busstops, a lot of... More

I've been backpacking around Southeast Asia for almost 8 months now. Borneo Seahare is in my top three hostels for the entire Southeast Asian region. The laid-back atmosphere mixed with the owner, Ben's wonderfully eclectic and artistic decor made me instantly feel comfortable and welcome. The lounge, a set of cozy couches and beanbags sat in front of a TV/DVD... More

Pleasantly impressed by the relaxed atmosphere of this hostel which is in a nice old building full of character. It used to be an old electrical shop and artefacts are still dotted about the place. The hostel was always nice and clean and the showers were powerful and hot. The kitchen is small and is really only a toaster, a... More

Lovely staff who are helpful and social. Clean through out and free breakfast. I ended up staying longer cos of the general atmosphere and social feel about the place. The location is excellent and the owner seemed happy to sit down with a beer and share local knowledge.

We stayed at Seahre Guesthouse for about a week. Very nice hostel on a central location in Kuching (near Chinatown and the riverbank is across the street). Rooms are basic but very clean, good showers and cozy area to relax. Ben, the guy running this hostel is very helpfull.

the family that runs this place is awesome. the vibe is super low key and in a great neighborhood. loved the open patio section of the place and the room was simple and sweet. plenty of showers for the amount of guests. would recommend.
