During my recent trip to Kota Kinabalu, I opted for this hotel despite a lot of choices of the same category in the Booking.com website. It is because of the good deal I got ie just a little over USD 100 for 4 nights. The hotel is classified in the 2 to 3 star category. It was built in 2009.... More

The hotel was OK, but the room was very small. (like in Tokyo) Bathroom is also fine. My room was clean. The food they serve is also OK. It was a perfect choice to stay at this hotel before (and after) the summit assault to Mt. Kinabalu. I can recommend this hotel for those of you who are willing to... More

Travel for overnight stay, the room is small and the bed is hard. While breakfast serving is ala carte for everyone. Wifi is slow and not stable and no convenience store nearby. With the kind of money paid, I expect more.

Good location, across road from Centre Point (1st stop on airport bus). Welcoming reception. I was lucky to be upgraded to a dbl. Spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable room, more like European 4* standard. Upper floors have sea view. I looked at several lodges nearby and they were all very unappealing - and cost more than Winner (108 MYR pn).... More

The Winner hotel offers you the basics, at a price which I am not sure is convenient for Malaysia. It's a small room (I had Deluxe) with a bed, a tiny TV with no channels pretty much, a small bathroom. I had a leaky tap. You're not going to go here on honeymoon, unless you don't wantt o get to... Located fairly centrally in Kota Kinabalu, Winner is a great example of a simple hotel that meets traveller's needs. There's adequate free Wi-Fi, good breakfast, and all facilities are clean. Most importantly, the double beds very comfortable and large (the fit my 182cm size nicely), and the showers are warm, strong, and among of the best I've had in similar... More

I recently toured Borneo and this hotel was the start and end hotel on the trip It is very run down and shabby. The rooms are small and there is no view. The air conditioning barely functioned but worked better than the tvs which received few channels with terrible reception The free breakfast-- well pass on it and buy from... More

Short business trip during peak period I had no choice but to stay in this hotel as many other hotels in the area were fully booked. Room with basic facilities. The shower area is too small, room is too small, the corridor is too small. There was faulty aircon in the afternoon and the water dripping from the aircon almost... More

True, my room was small, but very comfortable. And it had a window – many older downtown hotels do not. This is not a new building but everything worked. Clean, apart from a few stains on the carpet. Comfortable bed. Good desk and chair for working with a laptop. Very quiet all day and night at the back. One block... More

Odd name, I actually had a sea view from top floor so a better name would be a Sea View Hotel to attract tourists. Well no local values sea view, guess too accustomed in it? Anything else good? Must be good location and friendly staff. The rest will not make you come bad. This included the steel hard bed.
