Set back in the more authentic part of the city this colonial gem had all the conveniences you could wish for. I stayed here for something different and was definitely old world and enjoyable. Staff are extremely courteous, professional and helpful. Apparently it is popular with VIPs. Very close to local eateries and authentic street life. The famed viewing platform... More

As the title suggests, i believe this was a pretty classy hotel a few decades ago when tourism wasn't as vibrant as it is now. The old fashioned atmosphere popular in the 1980s can be felt within the room and although that was of no issue to me, travellers looking for that exciting uniqueness might be disappointed. Nevertheless, service was... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was a great experience. Very clean and tidy. Every time we walked in we were greeted with a smile and all staff were always happy to see us. The doors were always opened by the door boys which was a nice added touch. Overall it's a great hotel and would stay again... More

We stayed here for one night as a stopover in Kota Kinabalu. The room was clean and the hotel was centrally located which we really needed as we only had one day in Kota Kinabalu. We would stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Excellent service. Room was clean and the service was good. Location was good. Its a complete package. The staff looks happy and very friendly (not busy body). The bed was a bit hard but its ok since we were happy in this hotel. Keep it up!

We stayed here as we needed to stay over in KK for one night & it was perfect for that. Clean, tidy and very comfortable. The Lonely Planet review bigged this up a little more than we thought it should have been but very pleasant all the same.

We stayed in the Jesselton hotel for two nights in May 2015. The hotel very kindly upgraded us to a suite as we were on honeymoon. It was gorgeous! The staff were very friendly and welcoming and there was a quiet and relaxed feel to the hotel. The hotel is oozing with character and charm in comparison to some of... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and the staff were very helpful, moving bags and explaining the wi-fi. The room amenities all worked...wonderful shower. The breakfast was just right...eggs or cereals and was very filling. The evening meal was very good...served quickly but we weren't rushed. The best bit though was going to sleep on Saturday night to find on... More

Stay here for 1 night with last minute check in for work trip. Nice historic likely designed hotel at the corner of the road. It remind me of the Galle Face Hotel, Colombo. Easy walking distance if you want to look around the city. Many restaurant nearby esp my favorite place, Fook Yuen coffee shop.

The Jesselton is a nice hotel but a bit dated. Close to city centre in good area but nowhere to relax in The Hotel after a tiring day except your bedroom. This hotel needs either a lounge area ,outdoor garden space or just a space to chill.
