We took the private room with aircon and breakfast for 2, however we have a common cr and kitchen for RM60 per night. The location is just within the center of Kota Kinabalu City walking distance from malls, bus stations to other places in Borneo and even airport bus terminal. It is also near the baywalk. Staffs are very accomodating,... More

Reception and the owners very friendly and helpful, owners especially with advice of where to go and what to see. I knew there were lots of stairs here having read reviews, got a room on 4th floor so kept me fit! Rooms on the small side and in need of an update. Clean on the surface but beds hadn't been... Great lil place. The owners are great and the staff friendly. Drawbacks. The noise at the front of the buildings was severe, there is a busy market every night, they pack up around 11 and it's very loud. If you arrive when the markets on you will have to search for the front door as there's a lot of stalls.... More

Victoria Hotel was our second choice, but we have no regrets picking it. Our room was a twin-sharing with an en suite bath. It had all the basics, and it was quite spacious for two girls traveling with very little luggage (day packs and messenger bag each). A few things that we liked about the hotel's location: - There's a... More

We stayed here for a few nights...The place is decent though located at the center of Kota Kinabalu...Location-wise it is the best. There is a bazaar just outside of the hotel, and you can buy anything..There is also a lot of restaurants nearby (walking distance) that serves authentic Malaysian food.. Service: they have a free breakfast that is composed of... More

stayed at the man dorm for about a week - a good value for the price, esp compare to other nearby backpackers places, very clean and extremely friendly staff. our group ran into couple problems while in KK, but the staff (and owners) are still very accommodating for us

We stayed here the night before we climbed Mount Kinabalu. Good for the price, however, not the cleanest place but had all the bare essentials including air conditioning. If you are looking for some pampering, not the place to go.

This was a good hotel for what you pay. The rooms are small, clean and basic. The bathrooms are the same. This is not a 5 star resort however if your looking for an overnight while in transit its a very good option. The staff were friendly and helpful with our booking and we had internet access in the lobby.... More

The hotel was fine without being startling. It was clean enough, a basic breakfast was included, there was no lift and we were on the top floor which meant an 84 step climb each way...(trust me I counted). The staff and owner were incredible. Super nice and as helpful as they could be. They really made an average hotel a... More

Kota Kinabalu is quite expensive city for a backpacker but this hotel is a ok deal. Our double room with private bathroom was very simple and little bit rustic but clean and comfortable with a/c. The staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast is typical with couple peaces off fruit, toast with jam, coffee/tea. Unfortunately WiFi worked in the room only... More
