We were in room 8411, an Ocean View room with a partially obstructed view of the Ocean. The room wasn't especially large and a child had drawn on one of the bedside lamps with a black ink pen. The sheets were incredibly scratchy the first night although it was easy to fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves.... more

The room and resort were very tired but adequate. We were travelling independently and booked on the hotel's site at a top rate, however one night of our 3 night stay we were surrounded by a "Contiki" group. They were skinny dipping and carousing at 3 am in the morning. Also the wine was prohibitively expensive, close to $100.00 for... more

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Malaysian Borneo. We spent 8 nights at Nexus and enjoyed every moment of it. It is 40 minutes or so from Kota Kinabalu airport but within fairly easy access of most places if you hire a car/bike. The hotel has a regular daily bus service into town and/or 1 Borneo, which... more

The food is 2 -3 times more expensive than in the town at similar restaurants. Considering the prices and room rates you'd expect top notch rooms, restaurants and facilities - unfortunately it's a bit of a one-sided deal. The gym equipment is old and smelly, the rooms are outdated with mould stains, and worn furniture. The restaurants probably looked good... more

The Nexus resorts has the most courteous staff i have seen. The location and the view of the hillock from the rooms is sensational. The ponds in the hotel with monitor lizards gave that touch of wilderness along with the safety of the long private beach. more

We have just returned back from the Nexus after our 6th visit since 2001. You could say we were fans.. But........... Everything that made this Hotel special, stand out, with charming qualities and attentive staff that made you feel welcome - has gone. Everything that justified it being so expensive has gone. Its still a beautiful standard hotel, very clean,... more

Just back from our 5th visit to Nexus and again it completely lived up to our expectations. Rooms were clean and serviced twice a day. Food in all restuarants was excellent and the breakfasts in the Penyu were especially good with an amazing choice for all nationalities. All staff were polite and friendly and made an effort to learn our... more

We stayed here in two separate rooms over a 10 day period with a break in between. The first room was a little musty smelling but still clean, quiet and with a nice view through to the ocean (though through quite a lot of trees). On the second stay we requested a top floor room in the same wing (Ocean... more

This is a typical family resort. There are free scheduled activities every day should you wish to participate and there's a kids club. During school holidays, I would imagine there would be a lot of kids. Unfortunately, there is only one pool area. However, when we were there, there were enough deck chairs for us to choose where we wanted... more

My husband & I enjoyed 2 nights at the Nexus staying in the Ocean View WIng. It was fully booked when we arrived and we were concerned when we checked in as we had been allocated a smoking room (neither of us are smokers) but when we got to our room it didn't smell at all and as it was... more
