We decided to treat our selves with a better hotel than our usual hostels during our 6 months trip around asia. We spent Christmas and new years at the palace hotel. Everything was great. I have no complaints what so ever. We had a room with no window and breakfast included. The room was spacious, fresh and homey. The housekeeper... More

We booked this hotel on the day when we realised there was no power at our original accommodation. The staff were fantastic, very accommodating. Especially one waiter, Arieff. He went above and beyond, taking us to see the sunset over the beach, and on his own personal tour of the city, showing us a local's perspective when he'd finished work... More

The hotel actually exceeded any expectation i had with the value-for-money price that they'd offered. Free parkings & breakfast were very good, as well as friendly staff. Well except for that pool boy though. He only gave us 1 towel for 2 persons after looking up & down on us & said that it's 'hotel policy'. Which was fine except... More

Family from Australia including 2 kids stayed in adjoining rooms Kids Loved the pool and buffet and the karaoke bar was a hit The distance from the city centre was a little bit of a walk but there was a shopping centre across the road, there is a courtesy bus a few times a day into the city but taxis... We booked this hotel for 5 nights on Dec. 11 with 4 guests. Although the location is further from the city centre, we chose it because of the nice pool and, what we thought would be a quiet location. However, this is a very busy hotel - of the 5 nights we stayed, there was 2 weddings, a class reunion,... More

in deed appearance is deceptive. This uninspiring looking building is a wonderful place to stay. i stayed in this hotel fo 3 days nd 4 nights. the rooms are spacious nd clean. u can see the "tropical forest" behind the hotel. i enjoyed the hospitality. Oh,yes, and the food.

I liked the Palace for it's modern and bright rooms. It's worth it for that I guess if you need a bit of a splurge from the regular cement rooms of Borneo. The pool is nice too. But it's a bit outside the center, the food is pretty mediocre, and the wifi was really terrible while we were there -... More

This hotel my look aged from the facade but they have already refurbished their room to look modern. Location: A little deserted. Far from the city centre. Room: Modern, clean, quiet and sufficient. Facilities: Outdoor pool with changing/locker rooms & gym Breakfast: Buffet style Overall: Pleasant stay

We stayed for 5 nights. The room was large and the staff freindly. the bed linen although clean had holes in it and very few towels that had to be used for the pool as well . Wi Fi was very patchy. Breackfast was very asian orintated and eco friendly does not mean being stingy with everything. Very dissappointed to... More

I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel for a little bit of 'luxury' and it was great. The staff on reception spoke superb English and are friendly, the gym was more than reasonable for me, pool a bit on the small side but they are in progress of making it larger. The restaurant was good, i ate there both... More
