Well...the summary first: hotel next to the passage hosting a bar with a stage. So, (what a miracle!) music is bumping till midnight or later. Live band or serious DJ-gig - no public-karaoke torture. If you are able to enjoy it with a pint of beer then there is nothing to complain. The hotel is definitely nothing to spend honeymoon... More

Location is all that suits "D'Beach Street Lodge". If you have a soft ear for noise it's not for you as there's nightly butchering of songs until past midnight. Rooms were alright. Not the greatest but it can get you through. Dark carpeted floors were unappealing to the eye let alone the feet. Keep your shoes on as it looks... More

We came with a group of friends to climb Mt. Kinabalu, stayed here for the night after the climb. We couldn't get any rest, even after clocking 40KM for the past 2 days at the mountains. Why? - There's a live band downstairs blaring high octane songs after songs thru the midnight. - The room is made from thin cardboard,... More

The hotel located in very strategy place and the Sunday morning market just downstairs, and price is reasonable as we book the room for 4pax. but if you are a light sleeper, advisable get a room which not facing the bar. else, just noisy and noisy all along the night.

I stayed here for 4 nights and I was very I'll, I had room with queen bed and window but shared bathrooms. It was very basic for the $100 ringit I was paying you would expect more! The cleanliness was debatable, there was no toilet paper supplied even when asked for more. I was in the common room/communal area and... More

This hostel has NOT been honest in the representation of their rooms in photographs on Agoda or on Tripadvisor. What a terrible experience Rainforest Lodge has been. Just before Chinese New Year 2014, I booked with them, a "family suite with shared attached bathroom" on Agoda after looking at various photos from the hostel on the site. They looked cosy,... More

Other better-looking hostels around the area were full so we settled for this. The price was decent. The lady at the counter warned us before we paid that there would be loud music, so no complaints there. Actually it was quite fun to listen to the cover-songs and they only lasted till just before midnight. We had no issues sleeping... More

We stayed here for one night on our honeymoon after 2 nights luxury in Le Meridian. We were still really jet lagged so the ridiculously loud band wasn't too much of a problem (after a few beers we both passed out). The rooms are small and basic but has everything you need - we have definitely stayed in worse on... More
