With an ideal location and facilities to match, Thirty Three Stewart Houze Guest House hits the spot in many ways.
All of the staff were very nice, and the dorm bed was private with a curtain, well-aired and clean. However, found some strain of hair on the bed. The bedsheet is slightly worn out. Besides, AC in the room works well Security was good with key card entry. The WiFi-connection is also very good. Sharing area also good with a little terrace. The breakfast is simple with coffee/tea and toasted bread with mutiple types of spread. Water refill, tea and coffee are available 24/7! There are 3 shared bathrooms for dorm. Hot shower is good. Towel and blanket provided but no shampoo and/or soap in the bathroom. Definitely highly recommended.

For sure it’s not easy find a place so lovely. The family carrying on this place is absolutely great, helpful and kind as much as is possible. Yea maybe the breakfast is not the best you can have, but it’s fine, you can have homemade jams and kaya with bread, make your porridge, free coffee all day long if you want, tea, fresh water... but Isn’t nice when you stay in a place and the owners are always smiling at you and disposable for eeeeverything you need? Even take you out for the night Chinese ghost festival, or how was it called. They are happy to have you here and you will be happy to stay. The dorm was very clean, with curtains for the very comfortable beds, where you could feel as you are in a small private room inside. Definitely highly recommended.

The positives are great location, in a traditional house. But that is as far as it goes. The place is far too overcluttered with the owners junk. The "breakfast included" is simply shocking (white bread with toaster, cheap spreads, oats but no milk or micro wave, 3in1 awful coffee). I had the room at back, with private bathroom. Poorly and cheaply refurbished & furnished. TV with no English news channel. Not properly cleaned with lots of cobwebs and high noise levels from drinkers in the ally. This room was not cheap and represented poor value. There must be better ones out there.

Amazing hostel, staff very friendly. Everything was clean, bathrooms were always well looked after. The hostel was never to loud with people always coming and going. Slept well all 5 nights we stayed Would definitely recommend staying and would stay again.

Lovely owners who were extremely helpful giving us directions and tips! Also organised a transfer and bus for us with no trouble - thank you! The room wasn’t very big but that wasn’t an issue for us. It was spotless both in the bedroom & the shared bathroom. Lovely hot & powerful showers and the bed was so comfortable! Amazing location within walking distance of the main shopping area, bus/train station, restaurants/bars, the street art, little India and Chinatown. I’d say the only negative was the sound proofing isn’t very good here. If you get a loud next door neighbour you can definitely hear them. It wasn’t a problem for me though once the ear plugs were in! Overall I’d say it’s great value for money & we would definitely stay here again if we were to come back to George Town!…

We loved to stay here. Very helpful and kind staff! The room was very clean (we chose one with our own bathroom). There are several rooms to choose. It is placed very central in George Town. The WiFi-connection is also very good. ;) For us it was the perfect place to stay! Good choice!

Very handy place to stay, nothing glamorous but exactly as described so no complaints there. Absolutely superb location in the heart of Georgetown! Breakfast is simple but sufficient. Room is small but clean, natural light is a little scarce but that's to be expected from a historic building. Only complaints are the smoking area out front easily wafts up into the sleeping area, and the soap dispenser in the bathroom is a bit dodgy. Overall a great spot to spend a few nights!

The hotel is really nice, the owners are so friendly and helpful :) They also provide tours and maps around the island, and even to Perhentian Island, so you don't need to worry about your itinerary since they are helpful to provide one for you. We booked a standard room without window and shared bathroom, in the description, we don't get towel, but once we arrived there, the towels are being provided for us, so don't bother to bring one by your self :) The room is ok, air con and fan also work properly, but since the building is an old building (after all it's George Town the UNESCO world heritage list) when it is being opened for the first time it kinda smells like the old room (if you know what I'm talking about :) ) but after that the smells is gone, and we are ok with that because we love the smells of old building :D anyway, the shared bathrooms are clean, and the owner will be very happy to explain it to you how to use their facilities (like how to open their door or the heater, though it is easy to find out by yourself) Light breakfast also available :) bread with different choices of jams, and wifi is available, too, though in busy time, it is better for you to stay outside near the shared bathroom or downstairs for a better connection. Location also nice, since the hotel located behind Chulia Street where you're going to find lots of street food during the night and near Love Lane with their bars but not so noisy like when you directly stay around there. After all a very recommended hotel and for sure will go back there again :)…

We loved the concept of this Guest house. The owner waited us until late to check in and we much appreciated this, the Guest house it self seems to be cozy and clean. The breakfast was very good, lots of marmalade home made. Sharing area also good with a little terrace, the only issue was about the mosquitos as in our room there was an hole and we haven’t been told just find out at the end as i woke up with lot of bites. Apart from this was a very good stay.

Location is great, it's within the tourist area of George Town and just across from Kerbaya resturant. Basic budget accomdations and facilities with clean bathroom n nice staff. Don't expect more. Although it's slightly off the main road, there are lots of coffee places or local food and beer haunts around...
