Alot of mosquiots and not working WIfi, Really beautiful place otherwise, and it is an experience, and might be worth staying 1 night, but 2 nights without sleep made it a less enjoyable experience. Its a shame because a few small changes could make it an amazing place. The staff in the reception was trying to be helpful but we... More

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Perfect accommodations and service. Elegant and casual. Just lovely. One side is adjacent to a lively evening spot so if you're a light sleeper you may wish to ask for the other wing. I would recommend for couples or singles looking for an oasis of calm in the heart of Georgetown.

It really does feel like a privilege to stay here, as we did for five days in January 2015. Read other reviews to get a sense of the ambience. My top-up is about the restaurant. For some reason - a waiter told us a new chef had started only three weeks before our visit. . there is no separate review... More

As Penang powers into the 21C with highrises and resorts exploding onto the skyline on a daily basis Georgetown is further as one of the special places in Malaysia. Reminiscent of towns like Hoi An in Vietnam, Georgetown has maintained its multiple heritages and indelible charm. Within this UNESCO heritage site there are some truly unique places and The Blue... The Blue Mansion was the perfect place to launch our Malaysian holiday. This hotel/museum has so much character and history as well as creature comforts and central location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff were fantastic. We arrived without our luggage and it took two full days to arrive. The staff were so helpful and diligent and following... More

My wife and celebrated our wedding in this beautifully restored boutique hotel in Dec 2010 and are both hard core fans of The Blue Mansion. We will never forget the special and unique energy that we felt as we exchanged our vows in the central courtyard which we are told is where the "chi" is strongest in the entire house.... More

Lovely rooms, but noise from music venue next door blighted our stay. Drums thundering on and on stopped us from sleeping. What should have been a delightful stay became an exhausting experience. Such a shame because otherwise the place was interesting, historic and special.

We spent one night in the Mandarin room. Beautiful furniture, lots of space and good air conditioning. We wandered around the mansion and took lots of great photos. We had dinner in the restaurant in the evening. It was not cheap but it tasted very good. Make sure you go out on the balcony from the restaurant to appreciate the... More

Amazing to stay in such a fascinating building. We loved it here! A little dilapidated in parts but that's to be expected. A generous and friendly host. Very good location. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the story behind the building.

This hotel is charming and very unusual. A beautifully preserved old Chinese house that you can actually stay in. The room I had was large with a good shower and a very comfortable bed. No windows - the only downside. (You can open the shutters.) The open space is just gorgeous and it feels secluded and tranquil. The service was... More
