This is a place of great peace and gentleness, amazingly kind and helpful staff, who are both personal and accomodating! i loved the little details, the handwritten good night wish along with a delicious chocolate, the tours were very enlightening, specially the one with the owner. I never wanted to go out, just wanted to sit and take in all... More

This hotel is so peaceful and lovely, we didn't want to leave. The house itself is of course very impressing, the design of the rooms fits in every detail. The staff is so very kind and helpful, it made us feel truly welcome. The restaurant serves very good food & it was nice to have a drink at the balcony before... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in July 2014. We loved the hotel and our room. We also took a guided tour of the entire mansion (offered for free for hotel guests). Next to the Blue Mansion is an excelent night food market with malay food, I recommend you to eat dinner there.

We have just stayed at The Blue Mansion for three nights and loved it. The building is amazing, our room was lovely, with antique furniture, fabulous bathroom and super comfy bed. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. When they found out it was my birthday ( cards on the desk in our room were the... More

A beautiful historic, traditional, mansion in excellent location for visiting Georgetown. Huge room with lovely furniture and wonderful bathroom with all the extras. Very attentive staff and good breakfasts. We were looked after beautifully particularly by Pho, and really enjoyed our stay. Thoroughly recommended, and we will look forward to going back.

This is truly one of the world's most romantic places to stay. Everything is gorgeous and completely luxurious. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel is very convenient to everything and despite being so close to everything you might need in Georgetown, it is so serene and incredibly beautiful. Make sure you book for their afternoon tea which... More

On the fringe of Georgetown's UNESCO World Heritage old town is this equally acclaimed heritage building, steeped in the tradition and trappings of late 19th century Straits Chinese living in then Malaya. The ornate architectural features and fittings, with furniture, paintings and photos from that period, draw groups of tourists for the thrice-daily guided tour. Hotel guests however can explore... Reading through all the reviews below, there is hardly more I can add, and yet I cannot say enough about how much I loved The Blue Mansion (officially Cheong Fatt Tze mansion, named for its original owner). It was, in all honesty, the main reason why I chose to travel to Penang. Everything I had seen and read about it... More

This Hotel is definitely worth a visit. Being a world heritage site tours of the hotel were given to the public, but this did not interfere with residence. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The rooms were very well appointed, the restoration work has mixed the old with the modern very tastefully. Rooms have all mod cons combined with... More

This hotel is rated two star in booking.com but should be four star. After staying at the E&O for 3 nights, we thought the Blue mansion stay could not match it but in fact it superseded the E&O as it is like staying in a beautiful stately home, it has that homely feeling that the E&O cannot offer. The deco... More
