I'd give this six out of five at least. Fabulous hotel in restored Chinese mansion. Lovely large cool stone floored rooms and retro bathrooms; plate of fruit a nice touch. Attentive staff; breakfast served in courtyard with freshly made smoothies; didn't try restaurant in evening (closed Mondays) but looked intriguing. The real plus though is the beautiful building: red lanterns... More

We arrived after a long flight from uk and arrived at this most amazing hotel. You felt as though you had been transported as a Chinese emperor immediately you arrived. Everything was perfect. Our room had a name (fragrant poem) not a name and was so spacious. Outside we could sit in a long gallery with water around. All staff... More

Hotel is quite unique with a long history. The service and breakfast are to be savoured at leisure . It's close location to the historic part of town is a bonus. There is a loud beer garden next door though and the noise goes on into the night.

We really enjoy our stay, the room was very nice, the space was huge, the decoration is awesome, we love the bathroom. But, the breakfast was good but not exceptional, due to the fact that it is also a tourist attraction you have sometimes to fight the crowd and the in/out procedure with the car is not seamless, good for... We chose this hotel after reading lots of good reviews from various sites. We had a nice welcome was escorted to our room. We booked into a twin room. The rooms are given historical names. Ours was Sinkeh. Although the rooms were nicely presented, it lacked that personal touch. The amenities were very basic. The room was very dark during... More

Living in a museum has it's perks. Aside from the beauty of the building, the rooms and service are excellent. The staff is more than helpful. The food from breakfast to dinner is very good. A wonderful experience and look forward to returning.

The service was world class and our room, set in a beautiful and tranquil courtyard, was charming with classic furnishings. The blue mansion is unique. It also has one of the best tour guides we have ever experienced. If you are going to Penang this is a 'must' for a visit. My own stay was less than 24 hours which... More

My first impressions of the Mansion were gained during a guided tour. I dreamt of the idea of staying there as a guest. Little did I know then that just a few days later, due to a cancelled flight home, I had to find accommodation for my final night in Penang and I had no hesitation in seeing if I... More

We stayed here for one night as our friends were getting married here. It's a lovely place and full of so much history. The wedding was beautiful and staff were fantastic. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed was very comfy, drinks are a little bit on the expensive side. Bathroom was big and clean, with lots of amenities. It did... More

After a week of business meetings at the E&O, I was looking for somewhere different to relax & unwind for my remaining two days in Penang & chanced upon the Blue Mansion. It truly is a special place & a totally different experience from a regular hotel, yet has the key amenities we all expect these days. You are made... More
