The Blue Mansion would not be the place it is without the outstanding staff. Breakfast spread was excellent - it's hard to fault fresh fruit, perfectly poached eggs and very good coffee (the menu is much wider than that). The bed was very comfortable. I especially enjoyed staying in a character mansion as opposed to a purpose built hotel. It's... More

Ever since I saw a photo of the Blue Mansion on a brochure, I have wanted to stay there. My expectations were surpassed. Beautiful ponds outside the bedrooms, comfortable beds, tho' I hate doonas in the tropics. We enjoyed food and good wine in the restaurant -the lobster was a standout. Very helpful attentive staff.

We felt very honoured to stay in such a beautiful mansion. On our arrival we received a very warm welcome. Invited to go on a tour of the house, which was very interesting, so much history. The room was very comfortable and extremely clean. In the evening the beds are turned down and chocolates with a message, about sleep left... More

This is not a review of the hotel, but of its restaurant. The interior of this mansion, once built by 'the Rockefeller of the Orient' is stunning and delightful. So much better than the gory Chinese exposition of the Pinang Paranakan Mansion in town. This having said, the menu is somewhat limited, due to a seeming lack of patrons, but... More

Older style rooms with all its character and blemishes but beautifully done. Feels like living in your own home away from home. Located just off Penang Rd where there are all the local restaurants and hawker food available.

It is a very special experience to stay in this historical building. I can certainly recommend it, both as a romantic getaway (if you like history, like I do), or as a special occasion excursion. Make sure to reserve an hour in the morning after breakfast to enjoy a walk around in the building with the morning sunlight - perfect... More

The building per se it is worth visiting but the hotel service is really low standard. The room was quite humid and stinky, sort of not clean kitchen. The air conditioner and the fan very noisy, so sleeping was very uncomfortable. The breakfast was extremely poor, with just bred and eggs.

The Blue Mansion is an oasis in Georgetown. We stayed 5 nights and the care we received was top quality. The room was exceptional especially the automatic spa that was a great way to unwind after the day. It is located in a great part of town close to sites, food, transport and entertainment. Do the tour but staying is... More

A very small and cozy hotel. Since it's an historic building there are guided tour's three times a day. A bit strange but no problems. Even though the rooms are very old they have A/C, Tv and everything else you would expect. Food is OK, and if you don't want to eat at the hotel there's a lot of restaurants... More

I did not stay in the hotel although it looks like an incredibly nice place to stay in but I did eat in the restaurant before the tour. Although a bit on the pricey side, the cantonese restaurant upstairs is excellent from the ambience, music service, food to the setting. Highly recommend this place for an elegant Cantonese meal in... More
