Booked hotel based on other reviews here. I am sad to say that this place is overrated by the community. We booked a private double room. The room was on the second floor at the back by the toilets. There is zero soundproofing so we could hear everybody using the toilets, shower, etc. and they undoubtedly could hear us. Toilets... More

This is one the most excellent place we have stayed ever! Staffs here are very helpful and prompt. Tanya the lady boss I assume is ever so good and helpful. If you have pets then this is the place to stay. Best to pick a room downstairs as these rooms have tiled floors. Easy access to scenic and historic streets,... More

Stayed for a night in Jul14 over a Saturday night stopover. Place is interesting as it retained a lot of the old charm of such an old house. Having said that, it was too dim, even at 3pm when we checked in (place is a lot dimmer than the photos). It was a good experience and one of the better... More

Stayed in a mixed dorm. Reception is kind and helpful. Lounge area spacious, but lighting could be more brighter, and nicer if more power point are provided. Breakfast is free of charge. Coffee and tea round the clock.

This was one of the better hostels I have stayed in as I have traveled around the world. The building was British ex colonial with a huge entrance where you can sit for breakfast, watch TV or talk with friends. Walking through to the rooms there is a small pond with fish. In the back there is a computer room... More

Decorated with Chinese traditional furniture. Nice staff, and excellent location. 10 minutes walk to Komtar where the airport bus 401 stops. Plenty if local food stalls within 5 mins walk and the major attractions are short walk as well. The area is quiet. The facilities includes drink machine, all-day coffee, iron, wifi, hairdryer and more.

I got myself a single bedded room. I had trouble sleeping for the night as the on the floor air conditioning unit was really noisy, felt like i am sleeping in an aeroplane cabin. Everything else was fine, but there could be rooms for improvement.
