We stayed at Seven Terraces (Argus Lane Suites) as we wanted to experience 'living' in one of Penang's historical buildings. What We Like: 1) The hotel and room is beautifully designed. The whole feel was a very spacious yet cosy feel to it. Our rooms were extremely comfortable with the plush armchairs. We love the bed (the mattress is more... More

Unique property in the Unesco listed area. Like the grand Peranakan homes of 50 years ago with modern comforts. Private as they don't do tours for non guests and a haven to return to from the heat and grittiness of the area. Do eat in the Kebaya restaurant it was the best meal that we had in 5 days and... Dear HolidaygirlBrisbane Thank you for your lovely review of our Hotel. We are happy to learn of your interest in the heritage nature of the building. The original building dates back to 1890 and we have owned the property for 7 years, the hotel has been opened since November 2012. As you mention we are not only in the Unesco... More

An oasis of peace in a charming setting calling for times long gone. That would not be sufficient though without the helpful and friendly staff !! The evening cocktails followed by dinner on the tunes of piano melodies is part of my memories.

We stayed in the Argus apartment for 12 days, we wanted to fully explore penance as we had loved it the last time we were here. we had stayed here the last time and also left a five star review as we had a fantastic experience. When we arrive it was like come to a home away from home. most... More

We love this boutique hotel! From the moment you step inside the doors you feel like you are coming home and the staff are super nice and so eager to help and please. I chose to stay at this hotel on our arrival in Penang for three nights and we stayed in one of the the larger Argus suites, with a pleasant outside terrace overlooking the quieter street at the entrance to the hotel. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Faizal and promptly shown to our room which happily was ready for... More

We were only in Georgetown for 4 days so we found the location of Seven Terraces absolutely perfect as it is in the center of town and we were able to walk to wherever we wanted to go which included some amazing Restaurants. With plenty to explore as in heritage buildings and art trails Seven Terraces is in a perfect... More

Seven Terraces is a charming luxury boutique hotel showcasing the Peranakan culture which originated from the descendants of Chinese immigrants who settled in Penang 300 years ago. We stayed in The Argus Appartment, a huge double storey room, with very high ceilings and tastefully decorated with antique furniture. The bathroom was a plus, with a lovely bath, great for a... This is grand and stunning. The staff are really friendly and completely open minded to gays and welcomed us with open arms. Ewan was especially a great host to us, giving us excellent recommendations for where to go and where to eat in Penang. There's a lovely pool area to relax with afternoon tea served at 5pm. The breakfast is... More

Seven Terraces will always hold a special place in our heart as we held our wedding celebrations there earlier this month and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. From the beginning of the planning process Ewan, the general manager and Marcus the F&B manager were nothing but accommodating, helpful and positive about any of our ideas or requests. They... More
