Sadly, the Chulia Room we stayed in was not even worth the RM160 'promotional rate' we paid via Agoda. We mistook this place to be a boutique-style hotel, but were shocked and disappointed to discover a room that looked and felt more like a budget hotel - and we've stayed in enough budget hotels, and boutique heritage hotels, to know... Unique hôtel, full of character. Perfectly located in heart of China town and with very welcoming staff team - from the welcome at reception ( even though our arrival was MUCH later than planned) to the delightful man who does the laundry.

We stayed three nights in December 2013 - highlights - staff was very friendly, decent breakfast, large room, great shower. On the average side - fridge worked intermittently, room was a bit dark, and we did hear the mosque (though I always sleep with earplugs, so less of an issue). Great base for Penang, though, and we hope to go... More

Loved the place and its location, but not its neighbor (a mosque). The room was clean and adequate for a single person. It came with water, a boiling kettle, coffee&tea, a toothbrush and shower cap. Shampoo/soap was in a dispenser affixed to the wall. My room (#208) had an aircon and a ceiling fan. They didn't turn down the beds... More

This is a nice charming place. 5 - 10 minutes walk from the heritage area centre, but at the same time away from the hustle and bustle and noise. It is also close to KOMTAR, the main bus terminal in the area. There are many eating options nearby. The staff went out of the way to make my stay pleasant.... More

Expected the basics at this Hotel and that is what you get. Room - comfortable, some may find the mattress a bit hard but we had no problem with it, air conditioning was good, room was clean, bathroom/toilet in one small place. There is a mosque nearby and call to prayer is about 5.30am and you will hear it after... More

The heritage house is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are clean, large and full of charm. I did get a room with street noise the first night but the staff quickly provided a different room the next day. Breakfast was nice and the staff were attentive, accommodating and friendly. The house is tastefully decorated with an array of interesting antiques.Definitely would... More

The Cintra Heritage House is in a terrific location to wander the streets of George Town and the accommodation is clean, spacious and the overall ambiance of the heritage surroundings is quite charming. The room is basic but large, the bathroom was clean and good and we really enjoyed our breakfasts in the cafe and the staff were pleasant and... More

Good location within the heritage zone and convenient walk to a lot of eating places as well as heritage sights. But do not have own car parks so left to your luck to secure a roadside public car park. Advised the hotel staff that they should at least have available parking coupons that can be purchased by the guests as... More

Cintra House is located in a perfect location. It is walking distance to all the wonderful sites of Georgetown. We stayed in three different rooms as we extended our stay and all were great. Room 202 and 203 were fantastic. They faced the street so you can watch people go by. They bring in a lot of natural light when... More
