We checked in at the E&O Hotel on the 25th May, 2012. When we arrived at reception around 1230pm we were informed that the room was not ready and they offered us a transfinit room, which was very nice of them. We finally managed to get our room around 3pm, I would suggest those people that are not used to... More

The colonial style look and feel was fantastic and yet it had all the modern day amenities needed. The rooms were spacious and the decor was really great giving you that old-school vibe as if you're living in another time. The bathroom was also very classy and a pleasure to use. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location... More

I stayed here on my first trip to Asia 20 years ago, as a special treat on my birthday. But it was disapointing, it was hardly better than a YMCA. How things have changed! I was thrilled to see the lovely renovation and pretend I was some grand high society dame from the British Raj. Some people can't see what... More

It doesnt get any better than this. Its like staying in something from an Agatha Christie novel. Classic Luxury, with amazingly attentive and friendly staff. The rooms are immaculate and incredibly large with seperate office space and massive bathrooms. The location is superb, 5 mins walk from a buzzing hawker centre with a great selection of cuisines from all over... More

We checked in here for one night and I wish we could have stayed longer. I managed to get a very reasonable rate as it was a last minute booking. Normally this kind of place is out of our budget. We had a suite, complete with two TVs, excellent wifi, a sitting area, fridge, a huge very comfortable bed with... More

We stayed at this hotel recently andf thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were greeted with a drink and then taken to our room which exceeded our expectations. The hotel has a history of famous guests including Somerset Maugham, Rudyard Kipling, Herman Hesse and Douglas Fairbanks. Our room had a balcony which overlooked the sea, our bathroom was huge with two... More

Having lived in the E&O for 3 years"a few "years ago, when the hotel was decided tired, in great need of a total refit but still loaded with charm, I was anxious to stay there on a recent visit to Malaysia. I was not disappointed. This is a very grand, distinguished hotel that still manages to be warm & friendly.... More

We stayed here for few days and enjoyed our stay very much. Rooms have a view of the sea and are perfectly equipped. Staff is very friendly and very service minded. Free wifi in the room. Nice pool in front of the hotel, in the garden. Breakfast was very good, and can be enjoyed sitting outside. Didn't try the restaurants... More

This is our favourite hotel and we try to go back there once a year, we live in Europe, so this says a lot! Things I like about this place: -the colonial style -the excellente service combined with laid back atmosphere -the large and comfortable suites and the ocean view -location spot on in the middle of Georgetown, but still...
