This was my umpteenth time staying in this hotel for more than a decade, it used to be my top choice for accommodation when I visited the island, but sadly my most recent stay is a far cry from what it was many years ago. My room is not very clean and one of the light fixtures is not working.... More

Guys, I was there with my family (wife and 4 years old daughter) on 1st March 2014. We had a very bad experience. It's a very old hotel and they have bed bugs!!! I killed 2 of them and we have to on the light the whole night in order to protect ourselves (especially our daughter) from the bugs. We... More

we were brought to this place by a cabbie who had brought us from the border; it was expensive, especially considering how worn and barely clean our room was. the fixtures, mattress, and everything had obviously seen far better days, breakfast was the only high point, and even it was of erratic and inconsistent quality from item to item and... We checked into this hotel after looking at lots of hotels in the area. It cost us about £25 per night including a decent buffet breakfast but for that price I would expect wifi to be included. Wifi is really important to us as we are travelling for a year & we had to pay 8 ringetts per device per... More

The hotel, being slightly older ( but undergoing renovations) has large rooms! with two comfortable lounge chairs and our had a wonderful view over the bay.....spectacular at night! Easy walking distance to Chinatown, Chew Jetty, Little India and all the wonderful old buildings, now being preserved thanks to a Unesco listing. Great staff, with good local knowledge, and excellent English

This is by far the worst place I've come across during my recent travel in Malaysia. I happened to be at this hotel as I arrived in Georgetown in the evening after a long journey and without having planned to overnight here. Thus I chose hotel Malaysia due to its central location which seems to be the only advantage (but... More

old, mouldy, cranky front desk staff, terrible breakfast, very very slow and tiny elevators, in need of renovations, dirty floors, old worn towels and only 2. Although if you've been backpacking and staying at hostels, this may be great. Staff at the front desk were really rather miserable.

Nice breakfast, friendly staff, complimentary with newspaper early in the morning, parking lot available either outdoor or indoor. We stayed at level 6, if you demand for a very quiet environment for sleeping, please request for room above level 6 as there is singing performance beside the Hotel. Very good location. We walked to the Camera Museum, Chocolate Museum, and... More

Its a pretty average Hotel, nothing to write home about. For the price, RM130 per night, its reasonable. The main key for me at least is its location. It is being renovated, so by the looks of things, many of the concerns expressed about it being 'worn' will be dealt with in time. There is a Wifi charge for RM8... More

Went there for business. I came into this place not expecting much, but it was worse than I thought. I was travelling solo for work and I decided to go for something simple. Huge mistake. Breakfast is awful and not fresh at all, room smells moldy, moody staff. The only good thing I can say about this place is the... More
