4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Stayed in the Anglo Indian shophouse which is a duplex within hotel 23 LoveLane - an old bungalow which has been painstakingly refurbished into a smallish boutique hotel. Rooms were done in a quirky, cheerful retro style- with luxurious bathrooms and space for 4 people - with twin beds at the upper level and king size bed on the ground... More

we stayed in the "new" annexe to the hotel, 65 Stewart Lane - which was a stand alone Peranakan house - it was extremely comfortable, and very spacious the location was very good for access to the heritage area there were few shortcomings though: 1. the noise, the noise, the noise! the bedroom really needs to be soundproofed - we... We requested 2 adjacent rooms but that was not possible. Instead we were offered I guess what you would call an annexe. Through a side door and into side road and shown to a fully converted shophouse. It had all mod cons, a usable kitchen, and a jacuzzi in the open air right through the back. Large living room on... We fell in love with 23 love lane immediately as we stepped into its premises. Stayed at the jack roof annex for a night and wanted to remind for more nights.. unfortunately it was fulled booked there after. The quaint surrounding and eclectic furnishings are a visual treat with a touch of olden days charm.. we truly enjoyed our stay... More

This place is really special. The situation in the heart of old Georgetown is perfect. Starting with a welcoming, refreshing 'nutmeg' drink, this old Malaysian house has been carefully and thoughtfully restored so it is comfortable with large, interesting pieces of art work. Breakfast is great with a choice between a 'Western style' or a 'Malaysian/Indian style'. Lovely furniture and... More

Stayed here for 4D3N and my only regret is I can't stay any longer. The restoration work is amazing. When in the hotel felt like I have been transported back in time and to learn about the restoration process I am totally left in a state of awe. The service staffs are very attentive and always there to assist. The... More

Returned to Georgetown after last stay 12 months ago. Stayed one night at 23 Love Lane and returned for 4 nights this time. Just as good. A haven in bustling Georgetown. Great Place, great art, great food and service and cheap as chips we think.

Have just had 6 days here and found the hotel and staff excellent. The staff solved any queries about local travel and places to visit or eat straight away. They provide a free afternoon tea with cake and tea which gives you a chance to meet other travellers. The laundry service took 2 days instead of one but didn't really... More

23 Love Lane is a gem in many ways. First, there is the place itself. The boutique hotel is in a two-storey heritage house that has been lovingly restored and tastefully decorated. Walking in and exploring the place becomes a visual feast. First there is the decor, a beautiful warm contemporary approach with a hint of whimsy found in the... More

This is a lovely little oasis in the middle of busy Georgetown. It used to be the home of a wealthy Chinese business man, built in the Straits Chinese style that was common during colonial times. The rooms are simply, but tastefully, furnished although bear in mind that they are not fully reburbished to maintain a sense of the old... More
