Quite a nice hotel with romantic ambiance. Sound proofing is good too as we weren't stirred up by any noise, and hence a good night rest. The garden and the restaurant has a very nice decor and lighting at night. The room seems a little run down though, and the shower in our room wasn't working well. But all in... More

We were looking for a hotel with character to commence our Penang experience before moving to the beaches and returning to the E & O for our last few nights. It was adequate. Rooms freshly painted and clean. A/C worked, bathroom large, room off reception wasn't noisy as we thought it might be. Local busy street was not a problem... More

Spent a few days in Penang as a lark and chose this hotel due to its historic nature and style Facilities: The hotel is interesting and certainly feels the part of colonial Penang. You really feel like you are staying in a house circa the British colonial era. As one would expect the rooms are a bit small and somewhat... More

We came as a party of four. Both rooms were amble in space. clean and quiet. The beds are a bit on the hard side but after 4 nights this was not an issue. This a family concerned run business hence the atmosphere was friendly and extremely helpful. We experienced our first meal in the restaurant and the food is... More

We stayed 3 nights at the honeymoon suite and enjoyed our stay very much. As we drove to Penang, the hotel offer ample and safe parking. Though it was a historical building, its beautifully maintained without losing its colonial essence and beauty. Location was convenient, located between attractions and main amenities in George Town. We also had time and opportunity... More

The building has character but is located in a messy, out of the way place. The rooms are perhaps a little simple but were kept clean each day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. On a busy, noisy road, this isn't the kind of hotel you'd choose for a relaxing break. Definitely not 4 star.

We had a pleasant stay here. Lovely, clean and quaint hotel. We stayed in the small room by the front entrance, but were not at all bothered by any noise/disturbance. The hotel is in a perfect location and you can walk to the main sights in town. Lovely service as well.

A pleasant and comfortable stay in the hotel. Good location for the street walk. There's no swimming or breakfast provided but surrounded by food street shops..;) Quite and heritage well maintain. Can just walk out to search for food. But no facilities such as gym or swimming..

walk-in last minute, arrived late night. paid RM200 for a room near reception counter, ground floor, no window in the room and a window in bathroom which can see the garden. a family with kids stay in the room upstairs which just above our room, kids making noise but it is still bearable, they will quiet down after some time....
