The Penaga Hotel is a beautiful place as you would expect from the so called heritage hotels in Penang. However, I was still pleasantly surprised. The room was the perfect combination of old style with modern amenities. If Penang wasn't so great to explore I could stay in the room plus balcony and the hotel (garden, restaurant, lounge) the whole... More

We stayed here for 5 nights whilst visiting Penang for the first time. The hotel has a great central location and we found it easy to get places on foot and also used the CAT bus. The hotel is beautifully furnished, we stayed in a Hutton room with a balcony facing the garden. We didn't find it too noisy and... More

Nicely decorated room. Breakfast was good. Pool area a bit small and next to restaurant. We had Valentine's dinner there the first night and it was good, but took forever to prepare. The staff was very accommodating and nice. There were mosquitoes outside and many inside the business area where I used the computer. Massages were nice. Would stay closer... More

My family had a two bedroom room for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was good and the pool large enough to do a bit of swimming with the kids, with some small but pleasant gardens too. The antique furniture made the room feel very homely and the bed was comfortable. And with a great location, near bars... More

Ending my March 2014 trip to Penang, I found that this hotel is worth staying. We checked-in with warm welcome projected by the receptionists and bellboy. Room cleanliness is up to our expectations and the services given were excellent. Will surely come again for our next visit. Thank you for your hospitality...

This hotel is very modern, clean, well appointed with lovely rooms and staffed by friendly and efficient staff. The buffet breakfast was delightful with much to chose from. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished and is very modern while keeping the historical theme.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and although we arrived quite late at the airport on a Friday, the hotel organised a transfer for us (for an additional charge). The driver was amazing and in the short time we were in the car he gave us lots of tips on places to go and how to optimise the... More

stayed 3 nights with family, overall experience is good... nice spacious rooms... we even have fun exploring one another room as all our rooms come with different concept and layout.... as for the location, still need to walk out a lot to go to nearby malls... not so ideal for the elderly.... but still a very comfortable stay....

Lovely big room, good service and location is good too - walking distance to attractions in Georgetown, there is a free bus stop nearby and opposite a very good coffee shop for Indian food. Didn't swim in the pool as it seemed like an odd location. I can't say anything negative about the room or service. One minor point worth... More

Check in was quick. The room was quaint. Love the bathroom. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the small lady who works in the front office. She recognises the guests and possesses much information regarding the history of the hotel. The Penaga Spa was a treat and the treatments there were relaxing and peaceful. Only stayed a night but...
