We chose this place mainly due to its proximity to the many street food carts and other markets in the old part of town - and it proved to be perfect. Just minutes walk to so much, and importantly close to get back to by foot, to escape the heat and into the air conditioned rooms. The hotel is restful... More

Beautifully restored house turned into a hotel. Stayed there for three nights. The rooms are small but with beautiful, simple, wood furniture, and very comfortable. The staff is v friendly, and the best part is having breakfast under the veranda. The Malay kueh are the best part of it! It can be quite noisy and the pool is only for... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The building is gorgeous, the room was fairly small, but beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful with tips for shopping, sightseeing and interesting cafes. It's a great position, fairly close to Chinatown and Little India and bus stops for venturing further afield. We had dinner... More

Don't get me wrong the rooms here are tiny (as mentioned) and if you can't get past that then perhaps you will need to choose somewhere else to stay. What we liked: The breakfasts were a selection of western and local (Hawker) food and the roti chanai and varied banana leaf wrapped treats were both welcome and delicious. As this... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Yeng Keng. The staff were extremely friendly and wiling to help with anything at all.The building is very homely and unique, the atmosphere is unique and it definitely makes you feel like you are in Penang. My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Yeng Keng and could not have been more pleased with the hotel. The location is excellent and is walking distance to many of the sights in town. And, the hotel is a beautifully restored heritage house that tourists stop to take pictures of. The rooms and common areas are stylishly decorated... More

This hotel has been taken upmarket by it's present owners in the last few years and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Melaka and wanting to sightsee rather that lie round a pool or on a beach. The staff were extremely attentive and it has its own bar and restaurant so weary travellers do not have to go... More

My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights and it made the visit to George Town nearly perfect. Great location to visit Chinatown and Little India. The room and bathroom were very clean, nicely appointed with modern ammenities standard and quiet. Only complaint would be the hard and uncomfortable bed. Breakfast buffet was delicious, staff was very friendly and helpful.... More

I stayed here for one night (15th May). I would say the place was ok, the best thing I would say is that you were part of the heritage in Penang? Room rates were quite expensive to be honest. The staff was quite friendly and the location is definitely excellent, being located in the heritage zone. Only one event which... More
