I and my husband stayed the hotel for 4 nights last week, the location is very convenient for eating, tour around the George Town's historial sites and shopping. The room is clean and tidy even though it is quite small. The room is on ground floor for easy carry our lugguage but surprisingly not noisy. The staff is friendly and... More

Cosy with what one would expect from a converted mansion in a neighborhood with plenty of heritage. All you would want to visit in Georgetown is within easy walking distance. Though our room on the 1st floor faced the street we were not bothered by noise such as prayer chant from across the street; in fact it's nice to look... More

Good location with bus stops nearby and a short walk to Red Garden food court (recommended as best choice for evening with many outlets). Rooms very small and en suite shower room has minimal, inadequate space for putting basic toiletries and hanging washing. Pool at rear very pleasant to sit by and use – but drawback is that kitchen staff... More

Yes, it is conveniently located & rooms are "compact". But given its owned by Malaysian Chinese we were astonished to find that Chinese/ Green tea was unavailable although not apparently coffee or black/ Indian tea. The breakfast offerings/ standard was poor unless you are enthralled by uncovered COLD samoosa, COLD spring rolls & even COLD dim sum & somewhat aged... More

On the 2nd day of my wife and my Penang trip, we decided to experice a different side of Penang, trading the tranquility of Batu Ferringhi beach for the taste of the historical and bustling Georgetown. I had decided to book a night stay at Yeng Keng, seeing the many good reviews and unique architecture, despite the price being steeper... More

The hotel is in a terrific location and a convenient walk to many restaurants and in the heart of George Town. Staff was very friendly and helpful; they made me a sandwich since I had an very early flight one morning. The hotel is also clean and pleasant and apparently was renovated recently. Although the rooms are nice, including the... More

Yeng Keng is in such a great location, close to everything. Very affordable and the service was great. Amenities were good, clean pool, lovely restaurant, room was very clean and functional. Directly across the road from a temple so if you're concerned about the prayer noise I wouldn't stay here. We loved it and will remember Yeng Keng fondly.

Given the very good reviews our expectations have been accordingly, however, not met. Our overall impression was that it is a nice hotel, but totally overpriced for what you get. Good location in Georgetowns old town, close to some restaurants and night markets and shopping streets. Nice spirit and atmosphere due to the rustic decor and helpful concierge. Wifi didn't... My husband, daughter & I just returned from 3 nights' stay at the hotel. The hotel is very well situated in the heart of Georgetown and walking distance to street food, dim sum restaurants and other historic places of interest. After eating & sightseeing, we could walk back to the hotel to refresh. We had a family room for 3... More

We stayed at this location for 4 nights and overall it was a pleasant stay. It's close to many food options and a 7-11. The internet was great during the entire stay and I had no issues with the wifi. The main two 2 things the hotel can improve on is 1) They should change up the breakfast options and... More
