Hotel is no frills, but beautifully decorated and is relaxing. Old Colonial style with various trinkets in the room like old flasks, lamps etc. Centrally located within a 10 minute walk of most of the tourist attractions. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We were given a late check out until 1430 no problem. Bar/Dining room is very nice to... More

Yeng Keng hotel was really great choice for staying in such historical place as Penang / Georgetown is... Hotel is very well recosntructed hitorical building situated right near near historical centre of the town... Pros: - good price for what You get - Bit smaller, but extreme clean rooms, well furnisher and decorated (I really felt like I was staying... More

We stayed at the Heng Keng 5 nights and would recommend it. One of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at. Restoration work is very good, staff is the best. Location is in the middle of George Town. Food at the resturant was ok.

We, where do I start. We stayed here in March. As you walk through the front gates it almost takes you to another world. Beautiful heritage building with a lovely décor. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and quiet. It is in easy walking distance from the ferry and is in a busy and bustling street with lots of places to... More

If you want to experience a stay in Penang's historical boutique hotel, this is one of your best choice. The hotel is well maintained and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in the hearts of Georgetown. It is easy to get around by foot or by car. There is parking lots at the courtyard of... More

These guys are running a lovely restored boutique hotel with fantastic service and attention to detail. You know, the little things… strong water pressure in the shower, an AC unit that keeps humming away even when you remove the power key, complimentary water bottles, discounted beverages for hotel guests and smiles smiles smiles. I'm in the service industry myself, Yeng... More

Stayed at the hotel (in the family room) as part of our honeymoon. When we first checked in we asked reception to change the sheets, which were brown in colour and didn't appear clean. The staff were apologetic and did this immediately. Next, we noticed the ants that were crawling around the room. Whilst we were at the hotel our... More

Location They say that location is everything when it comes to buying real estate - I guess it applies to the hotels that we book. I stayed three nights in Yeng Keng in December, but didn't have the time to share my experience till now - for two reasons. 1) I have been busy 2) I wanted to let me... More

Stayed 2 nights during Nov 2014. Love the deco of the heritage boutique hotel. Hotel and room looks clean but we stayed at the second level and on the first night, I was bitten by ants all over the legs. Staff mentioned its the ants season and offered to spray insecticide while we were out or to change the room... More

My husband and I stayed at The Yeng Keng in February 2015, at Chinese New Year. The staff were really helpful, even when we decided late evening to upgrade to The Garden Suite (well worth it, a good sized room with a separate sitting room. The regular rooms are 'cosy'). My husband was sick with GI issues from a buffet... More
