Staff there are ok nice and helpful, rate is really good, room is clean, just if they can provide a bit more at breakfast it would be great but that's not really a big problem because food are really cheap in Penang anyway :P The location of the guest house is pretty good too! more

This is a charming guesthouse right in the middle of historic Georgetown - you can walk to most of the sites from here! I stayed 2 nights in an ensuite room - it was clean and had a nice ambience, even if slightly dark and bare. Overall, a great value for the money paid! I'll be happy to come back... more

Very clean!! This guesthouse has a classic atmosphere. Dorms are downstairs and rooms are upstairs. you have to put off your shoes to go upstairs. fast and free WiFi. You may choose to watch movies downstairs but you have to keep it quiet in midnight. The entrance door is also closed at midnight and you have to ring a bell.... more

this is a true gem. The place has a nice old architecture and it is very well mantain. Very clean, excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Really liked the Old Penang Guesthouse! The rooms were small but very clean with air-conditioning. The showers and toilets are outside, but again are kept pretty clean. The only slight disadvantage was the basic breakfast (toast and tea or coffee). Paul is such a lovely man, really helpful and willing to do whatever he can to make your stay comfortable. more
