It is an old hotel; but I bet in its hey days it was one of the hotel in town. Recently did some upgrading, with new bedding tv and paint job. What I like is that it have ample parking space for guests. Wifi in the room I stayed is acceptable. Waldorf is situated near Penang Road and Chulia Street... More

I recall the bed being quite soft which is very welcome in Asia, as many beds there tend to be of the hard variety. The place feels a bit dated and in need of significant modernization. The price was quite reasonable and the room quite spacious. You could do worse. And in Penang you probably won't spend much time in... More

Went on business trip a while back and decided to "slum" it out. I regret ever doing that, I felt like kicking myself. This place is absolutely horrible and run down. Rats and cockroaches reign supreme here. Beds are uncomfortable and the sheets smell. I did not bother to really complain, considering the price is dirt cheap. I will go... More

We arrived to find most places in the area full or the ones that had rooms were terrible . We found the Waldorf and booked in for one night but ended up staying for four nights . The rooms large but basic , reasonably clean but ageing , The price for the room was reasonable . The staff at reception... More

A Simple mid class hotel for the business travellers visiting Penang. Rooms were big, bed sheet were clean, mattress firm to sleep. Rooms are big and those facing the back of Continental will have more noisy room due to traffic flows. There were lifts in this hotel too.

We had some sweets that we had forgotten about in our bag, and got MICE in our room. Didn't really like the hotel, just a little bit dirty, little unfriendly, little old etc. Nothing major but just not a great stay. So so... but definitely head to the food court across the road, great place to eat and drink with... More

Although I have stayed at the Waldorf Hotel a few times before several years ago, given the arrival time of 0100 hrs after a long international flight with connections, I was a little "shocked" upon entering my hotel room - mainly at the "rough around the edges ( or well worn ) appearance. However, after staying there in this large... More

Decided to take a chance on a budget hotel for the fun of it and had mixed feelings about it. Room rate was at a bargain basement price but I guess you get what you pay for. The hotel's facade reminds one of a 70's-built institution for retirees or looneys. One is then greeted to a bunch of old folks... More
