We arrived when George Town was full to capacity and Banana Boutique was a port in the storm. The hotel is well located, rooms adequate for the price and quiet. the rooms are very average. The breakfast is poor. The hotel appears to survive on regular groups arriving on visa runs from Thailand. the reception staff were helpful and accommodating. I... More

Upon arrival I was met with a very efficient, polite although very matter of fact Indian lady. I was in my room within 3 minutes of arriving. Wasn't very welcoming but impressive I thought. I don't need smiles if I can get to my room quickly after a long journey. I wasn't even asked for a deposit or credit card.... More

Overall, Banana Boutique Hotel treats guests like they never expect to see them again. In this case they won't. Read on for the details or save some time and search for another hotel instead. Only gets a star because Tripadvisor requires it. Mosquitoe infested dank dark room (and that was after paying for an upgrade). Towels old and thin and... More

The room was clean enough, but the Air con was not working very well and the receptionist was extremely rude to us or not hospitable enough. I would definitely not recommend travellers to stay at this hotel despite the great location as there are still a lot of great hotels in the surroundings which may offer better accommodation with great... This hotel is right on Chulia Street, but set back off the street a bit, so it is pretty quiet in the rooms. You can easily walk anywhere in the historic district, and buses to outlying areas all stop near the corner. Lot's of street food options on Chulia St. at night, and also many good restaurant options within walking... More

The room is small but clean. The staff's are ok. But the management should be aware of the mosquitoes at the hotel. I didn't slept for 2 nights because of it. I complained about it and they gave me a mosquito spray but each time that we are going in and out of the room the mosquitos from the fish... More

Not a bad little place. Cheap, clean, close to local pubs etc. Good place for stopping over in Georgetown if you are on a visa trip for a Thai Visa! Can either get a room on arrival, but try Tripadvisor or Agoda for a better rate!

located in an old mansion, the rooms are around an internal courtyard and small with the bathroom added inside as an afterthought. Small fat screen tv. POOR INTERNET, not great water pressure Great location. Overpriced for what you get Typical American breakfast with hot dogs not bacon or sausage every other day a buffet breakfast when the visa vans come... More

I was in George Town without a room and then Indian lady kindly got me a room even when she didn't have a room at first. I'm not sure what arrangement she did. The boutique hotel is not very boutique but I likes the wooden floors, the interesting stained glass windows and Chinese idols around the place. However there is... More

The hotel is situated in a great location in Georgetown, and is closed to the various attractions that Georgetown is famous for. The exterior deco is more modern, while the interior retains the old chinese look which may not be friendly for some tourists. The room is clean and it comes with a comfortable bed, flat screen tv and high... More
