Locating the place is not as hard as locating a parking nearby, and the backward parking coupon system surely didn't make it easy for outstation people like us. But I was glad that we were there because the place is just awesome. There's a small library and an art gallery at the ground floor. The Big Group's Plan B is... More

It looks very special on the pictures but in fact, it looks kinda creepy to me with the old wooden walls, floors etc inside. It's more suitable for couple who love something random and new but definitely not for family. Especially the bathroom can only be covered with a thin curtain. Other than that, the soundproof there is terrible! There... More

If couples are looking for a random new experience, this is the place to be. It offered a mixture of and urban and rural lifestyle. Yes, the noise tends to get to you at times but besides that, the staff here are very accommodating and privacy is given priority. Secure from random outsiders and visitors, sekeping kong heng builds a... More

Firstly, Ipoh is not the nicest city so finding somewhere to stay that is in a safe block, clean and modern is exceptional. There are some cute cafes in the surrounding area and an of course there's the famous Hong Keng cafe below the hotel. The biggest downside is how noisy the hotel is, take earplugs.

This hotel if u call one is not living up to its reputation. It is certainly overpriced for the facilities it provided. A lot of mosquitoes, not enough toilet for the dormitory, dirt drops from the ceiling, noisy with people living upstairs moving around in the mid of the night and others. The fire safety rule is certainly not being... More

As mentioned in the title, it's abundantly clear that the owners of Sekeping Kong Heng prized the interior design of this place over practicality and comfort of their guests. At first sight, Sekeping Kong Heng is a gorgeous shop house that has been restored beautifully albeit too conforming to the 'hipster ideal'. The interior of the place screams 'minimalist industrial... More

Just went 3 days ago and strongly suggest you see first BEFORE making any payment. A hotel must first of all, provide a good night's sleep. The floor boards creak when someone walks outside or above. Dust falls over from the cracks in above floor boards. No sure how they can get fire dept approval. No easy exits, no fire... More

In spite of all the negative responses towards this hotel, and my brother who advised me against staying in this hotel, I decided to follow my heart and give it a go, and I wouldn't say I regretted it. This hotel is a gem. Nestled amongst the old shophouses, this hotel is an easy walk to all the places of... More

This was a fun restoration of a historic building, with an amazing shower experience, comfortable beds with reading lights on both sides, hooks hanging down from the ceiling for towels. We went for a swim in the swimming pool before dinner, and it was just us enjoying a very private setting. The fun of the place outweighed the drawbacks (innumerable... More

This is the funkiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s all industrial design in a reclaimed building. And it doesn’t really work, which is a shame. First, the web site is too cute by half, and so photo heavy that it crashes an iphone. When you arrive it’s impossible to find, as there is no signage, except for a tiny... More
