Perfect for couples away from noisy place. Exciting jungle tricking and swimming to the fresh river with lots of fresh fish swimming around. Lovely river boat trip, the view fascinating and drift woods formation. Safari night quite good some night animals you can see like boar and owl.

Whatever the reasons for unfavourable reviews of Durian Chalets in the past, please note this wonderfully secluded (but not too much) place in a Taman Negara outpost town of Kuala Tahan was TOTALLY DESTROYED in December 2014 by the most powerful flood ever seen there in history. Yet, it seems this fate turned out only for the good for Durian... More

These chalets are a nice option. Durian chalets is a 7 minute walk from the jetty of Kuala Tahan. It might be a bit further than other options but it is also more quiet. Staff was okay (not much talking), rooms were simple and clean (no towels). There is a breakfast option / cafe but we stayed here during the... More

The most amazing thing is the location: 400mt away from the bus stop, in the middle of the jungle, in an garden full of flowers. The chalet is clean, with bathroom (few ants in the bathroom) and shower, two small bets with mosquito curtains, big fan. People is nice, there is a small restaurant (didnt tryed it)

we stayed a couple of nights here after our jungle trek. The place was fun. The grounds were nicely maintained and very "parkish", and the individual chalets are very cute and pictoresque. Our room was small and basic but adequate for what we needed, especially considering the price. It is about a good 10 minute walk from town (dont forget... More

Rooms were very primitive. The fan was not sufficient to cool it down in the heat; however, it was cheap and they offered towels to use and decent priced food. Staff was not overly friendly or available often. Wifi was on and off and non existent from the room. Grounds are well maintained though. An ok stay amongst few options... More

Stayed there for 3 nights and really liked it. The owners are a nice family and the big garden is an colorful oasis. Good, cheap breakfast, solid wifi. It's a 10min walk to the national park hq., so take a light in the evening... it's jungle, so you might see some ants or spiders, but that's normal. 55RM for a... More

Durian Chalet is the place to go if you're looking for an unexpensive, friendly and relaxing place to stay in Kuala Tahan. We stayed in RM40 bungalow that comes with attached toilet with a (cold) shower, double bed, mosquito net, fan, dressing table, kettle, drying rack, towels, toilet roll and a couple of chairs to relax on the porch. Our... More

We stayed at Durian Chalet for 1 night for 45 MYR. The room we had was fine. Very basic, just a double bed (the mattress was mouldy though) and a fan, but they did provide a mosquito net. Only one power plug was working so we had to choose either to use the fan or charge our devices. The bathroom... More

We stayed in fan room costing 40MYR. Note that basic bungalows for 25MYR as advertised on Taman Negara Park website are not in use any more. The bungalow was functional and mosquito coils are provided alongside the net which is very helpful. Many crawling insects but it is to be expected in the jungle. We stored our luggage there for...
