This place has a nice quiet jungle setting. It is not a party place. All rooms have fans and cold showers. Basin is outside. It is a 5 minute walk into town. You can hear all the birds and insects. I wasnt able to book so just walked in. Rooms start at 40rm - 50rm. There are mango trees and... More

We stayed three nights at durian chalets and we enjoyed our time there. The bungalow was very simple but rather clean. They provide you with towels and each evening, they come to place incense against mosquitoes just in front of your door. The owners are discrete but nice and welcoming. The breakfast was good and cheap. Go there if you... More

Yeah it is correct, the huts are very simple! After the great flood last december the family had to rebuild all their accomodation because all the bamboo huts were under water till the rooftop (as was their own house!). The new huts are made of clay and wood, equiped with respectable beds, mosquito nets, a little table and a bathroom... More

Perfect for couples away from noisy place. Exciting jungle tricking and swimming to the fresh river with lots of fresh fish swimming around. Lovely river boat trip, the view fascinating and drift woods formation. Safari night quite good some night animals you can see like boar and owl.

Whatever the reasons for unfavourable reviews of Durian Chalets in the past, please note this wonderfully secluded (but not too much) place in a Taman Negara outpost town of Kuala Tahan was TOTALLY DESTROYED in December 2014 by the most powerful flood ever seen there in history. Yet, it seems this fate turned out only for the good for Durian... More

These chalets are a nice option. Durian chalets is a 7 minute walk from the jetty of Kuala Tahan. It might be a bit further than other options but it is also more quiet. Staff was okay (not much talking), rooms were simple and clean (no towels). There is a breakfast option / cafe but we stayed here during the... More

The most amazing thing is the location: 400mt away from the bus stop, in the middle of the jungle, in an garden full of flowers. The chalet is clean, with bathroom (few ants in the bathroom) and shower, two small bets with mosquito curtains, big fan. People is nice, there is a small restaurant (didnt tryed it)

we stayed a couple of nights here after our jungle trek. The place was fun. The grounds were nicely maintained and very "parkish", and the individual chalets are very cute and pictoresque. Our room was small and basic but adequate for what we needed, especially considering the price. It is about a good 10 minute walk from town (dont forget... More

Rooms were very primitive. The fan was not sufficient to cool it down in the heat; however, it was cheap and they offered towels to use and decent priced food. Staff was not overly friendly or available often. Wifi was on and off and non existent from the room. Grounds are well maintained though. An ok stay amongst few options... More

Stayed there for 3 nights and really liked it. The owners are a nice family and the big garden is an colorful oasis. Good, cheap breakfast, solid wifi. It's a 10min walk to the national park hq., so take a light in the evening... it's jungle, so you might see some ants or spiders, but that's normal. 55RM for a... More
