A cozy place, I like their bean bags and tans of movies at common area! Dorm and common area are clean, bath room might need some improvement. Not smelly, but just doesn't look clean. Free city map was provided during check-in, u can ask the owner Mat almost any question about the city and Perhentian island. He is a very... More

I loved my stay at Timur Guesthouse. The owner Mat told me a lot of information about the area and showed me where to eat amazing local food. Mat sells discounted boat tickets to Perhentian Islands and can tell you all about accommodation on the island. It was great to talk to him and other guests on an evening. I... More

Staying here feels just like family. One of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed, it has everything you need for a great price, and the staff make sure you feel integrated into the local community. Recommend staying at least a few days so that you can get the feel of the place. The dorm mattress is super comfy... More

This little guesthouse is the perfect place to stay in kota Bharu! I arrived after a long bus journey and was made to feel very at home by the owner and his partner. There is a lovely chilled out sitting area with a TV and DVDs which was perfect for relaxation. I stayed In a dorm, the room and the... More

Matt and Angela were so welcoming during my stopover before the Perhentians that I came back afterwards. Perfect location near the bus station, clean rooms and bathrooms, comfortable beds, and a relaxed atmosphere.

This is a great hostel compared to its price, it's clean and quiet, you can see all the movies you want on their telly, the wifi is really good and the staff is so friendly and VERY helpful. We got a map when we arrived there and the staff member made sure we knew where we were and how we... More

Don't expect too much for your few bucks. It's cheap and just fine for a few days. The guy who works there is friendly and gives all the information you need. Would not mind going there again when going through Khota Baru.

Stayed here for one night as a stopover to the Perhentian islands and was very pleased. Kota Bharu is a place I would recommend avoiding, devoid of anything interesting but what little shopping/restaurants there are are very close the the guesthouse. Paid 12 ringgits (about £2) each for a dorm room which had 4 of us in. No AC in... More

I had a solo room for a really low price. The location of the Hostel is really nice and also the only bar in the city is in the neighborhood of the hostel. The room and bed was ok, because there is no airco the room was a little hot.

I had to search a lot to find out this hostel after reaching Kota Bharu. Rooms are not good, small. One night I fought with one girl from UK, because she was disturbing, staffs are not friendly. Get free coffee/tea. Toilets not clean. I met one nice guy from Japan.
