Zeck's main selling point are his tours. Zeck and his wife both speak decent English and offer good advice for touring around the area. The accommodation is very basic. The mattresses could certainly do with replacing. Jalan Sri Cemerlang runs off Jalan Kebun Sultan and on the other side of the lights it becomes Jalan Pintu Pong. A couple of... More

The room I stayed in was basic and one of the cheapest, and the shared bathroom, was adjoined to another room. It wasn't the best place I stayed I regards to decor and the like, but Zeck and especially his wife, are more than helpful and friendly. They will drop you off and pick up up, help you in any... We were disappointed with Zeck's Guest House. Having been on the road for over a month, relying on the Lonely Planet recommendations, this is the first time we have been disappointed. We found the whole place run down, tired, and in need of some cleaning and organizing. There was clutter everywhere, it was just not that inviting. On a positive... More

Plus: - outside windows - Location: in a quieter neighbourhood yet still close to the central market. - friendly host lady. She is a bubbly conversationalist with lots of good info on the region - clean enough - shared bathroom between 2 bedrooms instead of with the complete hallway - could arrange bikes for us at 15 RM/day - arrange... You need to call Zeck himself to make reservation. Facilities are OK, had a fan room common bathroom.Beware dorm room is small. Bring your towel and toilet paper! 10 min walk from the center/ night market. Real asset here is Zeck. He's an uplifting man, always a smile on his face, always helpful, always positive! He knows all and will... More

My partner convinced me that I would enjoy a few days here with the incentive of a few days beach time at nearby Perhentian Islands. I went with an open mind having read reviews on TA. Zeck and his wife, Mamma, are assets to travellers and each a goldmine of information - as well as enjoying telling a story and... More

It's not amazing but it's cheap (10 rm in dorm) and quite clean. Good welcome, Free wifi. Not so confortable to stay all the day inside but who does? It's not so far from the center (10 min walk). There is a really good vegetarian restaurant in front of the KFC on Jalan Pintu Pong.

Zeck's travellers inn is not really a hostel (there's no staff, only him and his wife), but also not really a homestay. Something in between. The place can use some renovation here and there, but it's clean and functional. Location is good, and quiet, the city center is a 10 minute walk away. The main reason why you would stay... More

Zeck made us the time we had to wait for our visa much nicer and pleasant. Always good tips and information and very honest person. Rooms are okay, you get what you pay for. But Zeck and his wife make you feel home easily and so we would return for sure - just to see them again!

Room was very clean and staff are welcoming. Located about a 10-15 minute walk from bus station so if you are tired, take a taxi. Charged me a dollar for a towel that wouldn't cover half of my torso! Comfortable stay and would return if I needed somewhere to overnight. On a positive note, the city is wonderful and I... More
