We were arriving in the middle of the night at Kota Bharu and drove around the town to find a good but affordable hotel to stay for 2 nights. Luckily we found this budget hotel which I found is good in terms of its condition and a very helpful staff. It got elevator - which my mum really look for.... More

We stayed here twice, once before going to the Perhentian Island and once when we came back. Spend a total of 3 nights here and the hotel is OK. The location is good, close to the bus station and within walking distance of the city. Staff is friendly and helps you if you have questions. The rooms are basic but... More

The rooms are clean and have enough space. The hotel a bit far from city itself but in walking distance. The staff is friendly and answers to your questions with a smile. The breakfast is ok - nothing special but has options something to choose from.

Came by taxi from the border and stayed here two nights in transit. This was my first time at Politan, as I usually stay at the islamic hotel, Ansar round the corner, which was full. Politan is OK for the price, and very convenient for the buses and city attractions. In contrast to another reviewer, I found the staff helpful... More

Stayed here 1 night before and after going to the Perhentians, and for that purpose it is excellent. It is right across from the taxi station and also 50 meters from the busstation. So take the bus to the ferry to the Perhentians and take the taxi to the airport. Good location for this. I took the standard room for... More

This is my second visit - and I usually book a night before and after my trip to the islands. The room I got the first night was fine although you could hear the bus announcements until 11pm (the bus station is just two blocks away), but the second night, my room was musty, the wi-fi in the room sketchy,... Stayed here for a night during a month trip in Malaysia. The location is good. Its right next to the long-distance taxi stand and a two minute walk from Kota Bharu bus station (although if you want to get the private company long-distance buses you will need to take a taxi for 15 RM to the bus station outside of... The rate for an air-con room with 1 double bed & 1 single bed(for 3 adults) is just RM 80 nett, while a standard room will cost only RM60. The rooms are very basic but reasonably clean and well maintained, including the bathroom. A thermos flask is provided, but you have to take it to the reception to be refilled.... More

We stayed here before going to and after coming back from Perhentian Island. The first night we got the 2nd floor so we could hardly hear the outside traffic but on our return trip, we got the 1st floor room and so we could hear the noise from the road. The reception staff were friendly and offered us the use... More
