Pity that it rained half the time we were there, so we watched for the sun like hawks. Speaking of which, we saw eagles flying above the Anak Datai Island while kayaking, that was nice. The morning and evening nature walks are not to be missed! Wonderfully surprised with how many wildlife we saw on the walks and even within... More

It's built in a jungle by the beach so there's lots of wildlife like monkeys, squirrels, birds, and flying lemurs within the hotel's grounds itself. go for the complimentary morning and evening nature walks to learn and see more! Service was excellent and we spent every day buy the pool and beach. Rooms were a little rundown but spacious and... More

With it's own private beach, beautiful flora and fauna and wildlife in abundant, you definitely feel that you are on your own private island. Unfortunately the resort is getting run down, from the paint peeling, very slippery pathways due to mould and the rooms are tired. Jala is an excellent dining venue, especially at sunset and the food/service exceptional. Breakfast... More

We stayed here for two weeks and I had some reservations as we don't usually stay so long in one hotel and wondered whether we'd get bored with the location, food etc. However, we weren't travelling alone but were with family which included two grandchildren (11 and 7) which was why we booked for so long. In fact, we didn't... More

We had dinner at Jala 2 nights in a row. The food and service was great. We loves it, every dish was great and they did a fantastic job in the wine pairing. The dessert was old Amsterdam cheese with caramelised figs and shallots, the combination was amazing. And my 7 year old told the chef that his pumpkin soup... More

Me and my hubby booked a deluxe room with the rainforest view. When we arrived there ,we were dismayed with how rundown and dirty looking the room was. For 200 plus euros a night i believe our expectations were quite high. We decided to request for a room change and the front desk officer that time was a Filipina named... More

This hotel is magical. The beach is stunning. If you come here you will not be disappointed. Only two reasons why you should not come here (1) if you want to party until 4.00am in the morning because you will the only ones awake or (2) if you are scared of real wildlife because you will see plenty of it.... The one thing I loved about the hotel was the Coral Nursery, where it provided a free snorkeling experience in their very own coral nursery which has crabs, lobsters, fishes, and corals. The water is outsourced from the sea, so its salty, and a experienced trainer brings you down with gear into the snorkeling area, which was an unforgetable experience.... More

How can people actually complain? Got all the best wildlife, crabs and coral, monkeys and lizards. To say it's in the rainforest and all the corridors and public areas are open, it's incredibly clean. Definitely recommend the sea view rooms, the view is just wow. We fed the monkeys some fruit that was already in the room, which I think... More
