We reserved Plantation 1 for our family, three, My wife, Daughther and me. But they provided Plantation 6 which is bigger than 1. so we could enjoy plenty of space with two bath rooms. I would like to visit Langkawi and BonTon again. Feel the Peace with lovely cats. Yet, one disadvantage : Weak Wifi at room

second stay here and the highlights from round 1 were confirmed: terrific F&B at both the Straits Club and the Bon Ton's restaurant next door, legitimately warm hospitality, unique concept, peaceful ambience, superb setting. the mozzies and thin walls come with the territory -- attentive, exceptionally well trained, truly caring staff more than make up for these factors. i can't... I have stayed here twice and was very happy to come back showing this place to my daughter and her dad. I travel a lot and this remains one of my favorites. I love the concept of putting together old houses and redesigning them into unique rooms/villas, it is a whole different experience than staying in hotel rooms built for... More

Whilst this is undoubtedly an unusual place to stay in its range of colonial buildings, and whilst it probably gives an idea of what it was like to live in nineteenth century Malaya, it falls short of the standard you would expect at the prices it charges. Our bathroom had two hand basins, but the complete tap assembly in one... More

I stayed here for 3D2N. My experience from the moment I placed my booking till i arrived and left there was absolutely amazing. I was suppose to come with a pax of 5 to the hotel. All the arrangement was made with Shan via email and calls. At the very last moment, my friends pulled due to family issues. I... More

It was by chance that we stayed at this property and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity. We walked into a heritage home on a hot day and were welcomed warmly with a nice cold beverage and tour of the property and run down of the amenities. The staff were incredibly helpful and so friendly. We felt... More

This hotel is exceptional is the result of dedicated and talented work transporting and reconstructing traditional Malaysian buildings to this location. They range of simple but sophisticated Plantation room to a magnificent Chinese house. The attention to detail is extraordinary and the beautiful artefacts in every room are stunning. This does not feel like a hotel at all and in... More

I was lucky to get a last minute booking at the end of November during the high peak season. I was greeted with warm welcome and refreshing glass of pineapple house drink. Received a rather friendly introduction and also a private tour to some parts of the rooms. One of it being Penang house. I booked the Plantation 1 which... More

This is a hard one to review. Temple Tree has a lot of charm, but if you go there expecting luxury, you'll be disappointed. We went based on Lonely Planet's review, which included words like "grand" and "stately", neither of which are remotely accurate, and which led to a poor first impression when we pulled into the driveway. There are... More

The rooms are fine - everything works! Breakfast is left overnight in the fridge, so if you are after a full English, you'll have to go next door to the Bon Ton. For us, the quiet start with a leisurely light breakfast was ideal. Other meals are available at Temple Tree and we had a couple which were fine ('dinner... More
