While living in Singapore we found this little gem of a get away from the hussel & bussel of city living. A few hours drive from Singapore & a short boat ride you arrive at this lovely beach, jump of the boat into warm clean water. A welcome drink sitting on the open air veranda looking out to sea, then... More

The selling point of this resort is going to be... what the title of this review says. What you experience here is not many places can offer, the fact that you can put aside all the stressful work/thoughts, disconnect with the city life out there and be in your own world in this resort. Walking towards distance to the beach,... More

I spent 6 nights at Sea Gypsy on my way home to New Zealand. The snorkeling and walking tours were good. There were little sharks as well as plenty of fish and corals to see. The food which was supplied for every meal was amazing. It was designed to be mild on spice to keep everyone happy which suited me... More

We stayed at Sea Gypsy as a couple looking for a quiet island getaway. We found that it is a place that is geared more towards families with kids. The beach in front of the resort has a sandy bottom and gentle waves, perfect for swimming. The chalets are clean and made up daily. If you dive, you will enjoy... More

It's all about the kids. Visited early July 2015. RM1200 2d2n for 2 (i.e. rm600 per pax), by local malaysian standards that's slightly on the steep end (but for good reason... read on), I consider RM400-500 per pax as average these days (used to be around rm300) despite that, it is actually cheap once u factor in that they cater... My family and I had an great time. We were a party of five adults and five children and were given three adjoining chalets. Sun, warm sea, beautiful soft sand what more could we need on this desert island? We found - children's play area, volley ball net, tree shaded areas, kids club for the evenings....until 10.00!, well stocked bar,... More

Really good weekend getaway. Clear waters and clean white sand beaches. The snorkeling is great! Just a few meters from the beach is a large reef where you see a variety of small fish and sea creatures. First time I've seen a clownfish in the wild! Was really excited. Staff are really lay back, friendly and helpful. Accommodation is clean... More

Recently spent three nights at Sea Gypsy travelling with another family, and 5 kids aged between 3 and 5. It was an easy drive from Singapore to the pick up location (30 mins south of Mersing), from which we boarded a small speed boat that took us on a 20 minute journey to Pulau Sibu island. We were warmly greeted... More

A colleague recommended the place. Having spent over a month in Singapore with three children we decided to venture into Malaysia and the Sibu island. The trip from Singapore was long due to long delays at the boarder crossing but once on the jetty, the fun started. The boat ride felt like being back on Universal Studios S. The food... More

If it wasn't for the sand flies, I'd give this place top marks. Food's good, staff are all really nice, accommodation is good, beach is nice, diving all right, and so on. There is actually wifi too, though very slow. Plus for the subsidised transport service back and forth between the island and Singapore. The rest of the island is... More
