What can I say? This is our 3rd visit and we still love it. They have upgraded the rooms and it's better than ever. We visited in March 2015 and coincidentally being Turtle nesting season so our family experienced something very special seeing the turtles, examining their tracks up the beach and the nest (fenced up of course) as the... Advice to management: - A king-sized bed is different from two single beds. It's not because you put them together that you can get a bigger bed. In case you haven't noticed there is a space between two single beds that you don't have when using a king-size bed. Please re-think your strategy... - 3 wine glasses for a villa... More

Spent a long weekend here with friends and family. There is no doubting the spectacular beauty of the location, but as has been said by previous reviewers the maintenance has slipped significantly and the service is sadly pretty mediocre. We found the food to be very hit and miss, with a few great dishes but others that were close to... More

Dear 455WillC, Thank you very much for your feedback which is invaluable in helping us prioritise and make improvements at Batu Batu. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay in general but apologise sincerely that there were various disappointing and frustrating aspects to it. We understand that service standards have slipped recently and we are working hard to rectify... More

Great family friendly resort, would not advise going without kids. Great food in restaurant, poor service on the whole. Very spacious villa for 2 child (11 & 8) family. Will try other places before going back to Batu Batu.

Batu Batu has a beautiful setting, white sandy beaches, blue ocean, fairly comfortable beach villas, good food and quite helpful staff. Where it needs to improve are basic maintenance and upkeep. For example on our recent stay there was no water supply for the bathtub, only cold water in 2 of the showers. The wood on the walkways is very... More

Spent an extended weekend on Batu Baru and had a great time there. Location is excellent, a small island off the coast of Mersing, with nothing on the island but the resort and a small number of guests. Access via the ferry terminal at Mersing was convenient with the resorts agent meeting you at the terminal and pointing you the... More

I must confess right away that we've visited Batu Batu 5 times since it opened 2-1/2 years ago, and am planning many more visits. Yes, the villas are not totally sealed against nature, and you will have the occasional gecko chirping overhead (but they are charming!). Yes, there are mosquitoes (its IS a tropical jungle island, after all!) and the... More

The luxury is the nearly untouched nature with white beaches and crystal clear water. It's a fantastic hide away for families with small kids. The resort is simple with no fancy luxury such as cable TV or motor driven water sports. The villas are equipped with all you need but nothing more. Even the low water pressure of the shower... Stayed for 4 nights in February with my family of four. Let me start by saying that this is a great resort for families with children. I would probably not come here as a couple on a honeymoon. There are kid's everywhere but for us - that was perfect. No need to feel guilty for the toddler screaming out of... More

This is our go-to place to come from Singapore for long weekend breaks. It was our second time there and we will be back. They get so much right and they charge for it, which is understandable. 2.5 to 3 hours drive from Singapore then a 20 to 40 minute boat ride depending on the weather. Its closer than other... More
