We stayed at Chez Maggie for a couple of nights at the end of a tour with Remote River Expeditions, a company owned by the guy who runs the hotel, Gary. Chez Maggie first. It's a fantastic hotel. Gorgeous bungalows scattered round beautiful gardens. Direct access onto the beach, and a wonderful spot to watch sunset with a cold beer.... More

We had a great time staying at this little hotel towards the end of our trip through Madagascar. The hotel was a great, relaxing experience with friendly staff, nice maintained garden throughout the property and a great restaurant! The owners are Gary and his wife, with Gary being a very friendly and gracious host. We would highly recommend this hotel... More

I am an hotelier myself and tend to be as critical as understanding when reviewing a hotel. After endless deliberations, we booked in at Chez Magie for a 15 days holidays. Rare occurence as people tend to tour rather than drop their suitcases, but we wanted peace, quiet and R&R after our busy season. We got everything we wanted. On... More

We stayed at Chez Maggie for two nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The bungalo was clean and comfortable. The staff was accommodating and extremely pleasant, and the location was amazing. We spent a day just relaxing by the pool, swimming in the Mozambique channel (it is right on the beach), and taking pictures of the incredible sunset. The... More

I stayed two non-consecutive nights at Chez Maggie and was pleasantly surprised. The first room I stayed (#5) was spacious with A/C and large mossie net. It has a beach fair to it as you would expect from a beach hotel. The hotel has also direct access to the beach. Unfortunately, we arrived late and left early both times so... More

I am a resident of Madagascar who travels in country on a regular basis and I have stayed in a range of accommodations from one end of the island to the other. Chez Maggie offers truly excellent accommodations and service at a fair price in relation to the local market. It is a wonderful place to relax and forget your... More

As I'm sure is the same for other tourists, we arrived in Morondava after doing the Tsiribihinia river cruise, the Tsingy park and the Kirindy park so it was lovely to have a slice of luxury after roughing it! And I mean luxury by Madagascan standards - so hot water, air conditioning and comfy double beds with big fluffy pillows!... More

We decided on the places we wanted to see in Madagascar and asked Gary at Remote River Expeditions to pull it all together for us. He did an excellent job and offered many suggestions. His hotel, Chez Maggie, is a very welcome oasis after long days of travel. Comfortable rooms with mosquito nets, hot showers and A/C. Gary arranged fantastic... More
