My wooden floored bungalow was just in front of the beach, others are located in a well maintained garden, also not far from the beach. 2 deckchairs on the terrace were lovely to watch sunsets. The restuarant has good and tasty dinners with very tasty seafood dishes, and good breakfasts. The staff in the restaurant is multi-lingual, beside French fluent... More

Morondava is a beautiful place. Clean beaches, unique Baobab trees, warm sunny climate, it is a wonderful destination. Renala was a wild choice that we made which we realized to our peril. We were allotted Bungalow next to the restaurant. The bungalow although has good access to beach but proved to be unsafe. The locking mechanism of bungalows are poor.... More

We arrived after dark from Bekopaka and were out by 8am the next morning to catch a flight, so my review has to be cautious at best. The accommodation is real beach cottage style, spacious with deck chairs on the little private verandah in front of each cottage, a large entrance hall area with two benches, ideal for leaving wet... The Renala is a cluster of spacious wooden cabins located in a sandy coconut grove by a magnificient beach, Our group stayed there twice on the way to/from the Tsingy National Park. The cabins, while basic, have a certain charm. Mosquito nets are provided and there is hot water. Wifi is available in the restaurant, My experience in the restaurant... More

We stayed at the Renala for 2 days on a Jenman trip. The bungalows were cute and well appointed - we really liked them. For us, management completely ruined this stay. The hotel manager (on our 1st day there), completely ripped us off - quoting us very high for a mangrove tour. We didn't know the costs, so agreed. Later... More

It's Madagascar - to the other reviews complaining of 'dirt' or 'discomfort' - you came to a country living in poverty but regardless the most beautiful country in the world. No, you can't expect some fancy hotel with shiny walls and fluffed pillows. I don't know about them, but I came here to experience the true beauty of the land,... More

The only advantage of this hotel is its location directly on the beach (however, the beach is not private). Our bungalow was spacious but really dirty, hardly cleaned from the previous occupant. The windows were very small so hardly any daylight penetrated into the room. Breakfast was basic. We stayed another night in neighbouring "Chez Maggie" which we found much better.

Morondava and its Baobab Avenue was one of one of the most amazing experiences I had in Madagascar. Untill I got to know the staff of the Renala hotel. Friendly at the first sight. But don´t try to solve a problem with anybody from the reception or the manager himself! All of them were very rude. When you already decide... More

One of the few hotels we stayed in that was cool enough to sleep - with the air conditioner on. If the power is out (as it is frequently) this hotel has two generators. The rooms even have television. The bungalos on the beach get a nice breeze. The sunsets were fantastic. The beach has very few people, and has... More

the renala has a great selection of rooms at different prices to meet different budgets, all of which seemed to be very good value for money. we went for a mid-range room, and found it was very comfortable (finally a good mattress!) and even had television and air conditioning! the food at the restaurant is good and reasonably priced, and...
