Le Petit Paradis is charming little hotel centrally located and at a very good price. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The little garden is lovely to sit it and the breakfast is good too. The staff was friendly and very helpful in booking a driver to go to Ankarana. Overall a great place to stay!

We stayed here for five days. Phillip was so friendly and was very helpful driving us around to a few restaurants. The staff were wonderful and equally helpful. They called multiple drivers for our daily excursions and arranged them at local rates. The rooms are very clean and tidy. The hotel is very safe. We left our bags here for 4 nights while we were in the mountains camping. We would totally recommend this place to anyone!

I stayed 4 nights, july 2017, following the recommendation of my brother. The room was clean, confortable and the price is fair. As mentionned below, i would recommand to take a tuk tuk to get back to the hotel at night, as the surrounding street are very dark. Don't look further if you want a quiet place at good price to stay in Antsiranana. Thanks again to the great staff, specially Philippe for the great advices about motorcycle tour in Madagascar. So long!

A simple, comfortable hotel with extremely pleasant staff. Hot water, wifi and tasty cocktails added to a very pleasant stay in Diego Suarez - a town with atmosphere. Although not right in the centre the hotel is in an okay location

Hi, We stayed several days in this very nice and simple hotel in Diego Suares. Rooms were cleaned, hot water, wifi, possibility to clean your clothes in less than a day, very nice. Breakfast is not included, but reasonable price and good food quality. The definite plus is the staff, very helpful and dedicated. Agnès helped us out to book several day trips, taxibrousse booking without any charge. There is also a guardian, always helpful. Everyone enjoyed their stay in the Le Petit Paradis. When we will go back in Diego (which is very likely), we will go back for sure. Traveled with four friends

I stayed in Le Petit Paradis for 6 weeks in November and December 2015 in room no. 4. The room is small with a large queen size bed, a private toilet and a small shower. The room was very clean and quiet. Rooms on the other side are facing a small bar (gargotte) with sometimes very loud music. There is a good wifi-connection in the room and in the courtyard. In case of power loss (once or twice a week) a generator takes over. Breakfast includes juice, tea, baguette, marmelade and is served in the courtyard (eggs are supplementary). There is also a small bar in the courtyard (no Gin available). There is no restaurant but you can order pizza from a home delivery service. The guesthouse is in walking distance (5 min.) to the marketplace and the Rue Colbert with souvenir shops and supermarket. All staff was very friendly! There is a guard at night. There are mosquitos around so bring enough mosquitos repellent.

We found this hotel in the Bradt Madagascar guidebook and paid 62,000 Ar per night for our room. It is a little bit far from the tourist centre of Diego to walk comfortably at night, but it is a 1,000 Ar / five minute trip by Tuk Tuk (motorised rickshaw). All of the drivers knew where it was. The accommodation is perfectly adequate: fan and AC in the rooms, a good mosquito net over the (clean) bed and reliable hot water in the shower. The welcome was five star. The manager, Agnés, was extremely helpful, giving us lots of tips and advice about what to do during out time in Diego. Particularly useful was her assistance with organising our onward journey by taxi-brousse to Sambava. A good value mid-range option with a 'family' atmosphere that we would happily stay in again.

I booked on Airbnb where there is a listing and the price was very reasonable (£15 per room per night) although I believe the rate is the same on the desk. The accommodation is simple but pleasant, a clean environment, hot water, electricity, wifi all included in the price, breakfast additional. There was a little confusion at checkout since a complicated back and forth conversion occurred between Euros and ariary to figure out the balance and the fact that the room had been prepaid got lost in translation, but this was more due to misunderstanding than anything else, as well as the fact that the Euro Ariary rate provided by the hotel is very poor. Overall an enjoyable stay and I would recommend.

The hotel is located around 5-10 min walk to the centre of Diego. At night the street is rather dark and it's recommended to take a taxi to go there if you're alone. In case the taxi driver mixes up hotels, remember to tell it's next to the prison. There are only few rooms which are clean and a nice garden to sit around and relax or use the internet. The staff is very friendly and eager to help you out with any problem you might face, although it is helpful to speak at least a bit of French. They also help you get to know other guests or find a traveling partner for a day trip when you're travelling alone. Although the street is silent at night, you hear dogs barking or cats climbing around or jumping down the fence or when it's windy falling Mangos. There is a restaurant for breakfast and a bar which serves drinks in the evenings. Considering the price it's a very good deal, I would go there again.
