I run a safari operation (Sporting Excellence) and stayed with my group here for two nights in June 2014. The lodge has been designed superbly. It completely blends with the surrounding open bush. The best part is the ventilation system which is possibly the best I have ever encountered anywhere. There is no need for a fan in your room... More

We liked the place. The accommodation was very comfortable. Large spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Toilets were clean. Decent showers . Hot water. The food was also good and the service excellent.Only real short coming I felt was the lack of in room tea/ coffee making facilities. But then this was the case in most of the camps of this level.... I visited the Sopa lodge on a weekend break from Nairobi with Big Time Holidays. It transpired that i was the only one and effectively had my own personal guide for an incredibly good price. It is a long way from town, 6 hours or so and there are a couple of instances where the guide stopped to speak to... More

Arriving at lunch time from Nairobi after a night flight with almost no sleep, after checking in into our bungalow - we went immediately for lunch. It was a small buffet with simple but good food. Especially the soups have been outstanding thru out the whole stay. The rooms are small bungalows with a terasse . The bath was small... More

We loved this little oasis and really enjoyed our brief stay here. I'm hoping(!) that I won't forget watching, what seemed to be, hundreds of baboons stroll by while we were having lunch. I mean, really, how cool is that??? The rooms were nice (it seemed like we all had our separate little cabanas), check out the night sky if... More

The Samburu Sopa Lodge was one of the best experiences I have had at any facility (ignoring the fact that leading up to my two nights here I was camping for two weeks, so anything seemed lavish after that). The staff was amazing and helpful, even going so far as to get me a coffee pot during the "in between... More

An awesome facility to base from for the Safari experience in the desert climate of the Samburu National Reserve of Kenya, Africa. Staff was excellent, great food, rooms and public areas always clean and welcoming. A very safe place in the middle of the Big 5 Habitat. Lion, Giraffe, Elephant all within a few miles of the Lodge. Road leading... More

We stayed as a large family group ( teens to fifties ) and this lodge exceeded our expectations. It provided a very comfortable and welcoming base for game drives and animal / bird watching in the immediate vicinity if the lodge. Good food with lots of choice and variety , spacious quiet rooms with well appointed bathrooms. Colourful Samburu dancers... More
