We spent 2 days at the Samburu Sopa Lodge. it was beautifully designed, people were exceptionally warm and helpful. Other reviews give a good description of the room ventilation. One day we decided to skip breakfast, and our waiter came to the room worried that we might be hungry, then insisted he bring us some toast and coffee. How nice... More

When we stayed here there were not a lot of other guests but that could be because of its location. It is a long drive from Nairobi, and is not really close to the other lodges in this area but is very close to the local airport . We loved... The drive here from Nairobi as the scenery is spectacular.... More

I don't know what I was expecting, but greatly surprised. The "room" was a screened in house, it was great. You could feel the breeze at night along with hearing the animals that prowled the area. Baboons sitting on your doorstep or feeding the birds at meal times. Outrageous!

I spent two nights in this lodge and I was completely satisfied with the experience. The lodge is situated in the Samburu reserve. The rooms were spacious and clean. The food and the service were quite acceptable and the view from the veranda of the lobby was magnificient. The best thing to do is sitting on the veranda across the... More

Of the 3 safari places we stayed at during our holiday this was our favourite. It was quite a small lodge (I think 36 rooms spread well apart) which gave an uncluttered and spacious feel to the place. It was also the one closest to nature as outside your door you were basically part of the National Park. You had... More

Pros: Most everything was pretty good about this resort from the food, to the lodging, to the service, to the location. There's a watering hole y get to view from the dining hall. Cons: room was a bit far from the dining hall/reception. The electricity was only turned on for a few hours a day. This was not good if... More

Among the value places we stayed during our 8 day safari in Kenya, I find Sopa Lodge acceptable. Service: Friendly. Fine. Location: It's an extra 30min from the game viewing area. I did not find this overly difficult. We woke up earlier. Rooms: Large and clean. Hot water available at all times. No wifi avail. Food: Acceptable. Like all resorts,... More

I run a safari operation (Sporting Excellence) and stayed with my group here for two nights in June 2014. The lodge has been designed superbly. It completely blends with the surrounding open bush. The best part is the ventilation system which is possibly the best I have ever encountered anywhere. There is no need for a fan in your room... More

We liked the place. The accommodation was very comfortable. Large spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Toilets were clean. Decent showers . Hot water. The food was also good and the service excellent.Only real short coming I felt was the lack of in room tea/ coffee making facilities. But then this was the case in most of the camps of this level.... I visited the Sopa lodge on a weekend break from Nairobi with Big Time Holidays. It transpired that i was the only one and effectively had my own personal guide for an incredibly good price. It is a long way from town, 6 hours or so and there are a couple of instances where the guide stopped to speak to... More
