Sarova rings the bell of superior quality in everything. However, Shaba Game Lodge is most certainly not your usual Sarova. Of course, they are not that expensive as the other facilities, but read the rest. While sharing comments on location and probably on rooms, I'd like to say we were not impressed by service. We were booked into a room... more

We stayed here for the first two nights of our safari. When we arrived we were amazed as we approached the lodge it appeared out of no where and was a little oasis in the middle of the reserve. The lodge is outstanding on arrival afetr a 6 hour drive from nairobi we were met with cold towels and fresh... more

Stayed at Sarova Shaba Lodge for two nights in early October 2008. Nice lodge, but a little too fancy to my taste - it does not have much of a wild feeling. The natural riverine forest was turned into a sort of garden, somewhat out of place in Samburuland. On the plus side you can watch lots of bird species,... more

The Shaba Game Lodge is very well maintained/clean and relaxing. We had a great time - safari during the morning and early evening, afternoons by the sparkling clean pool - so refreshing after all the dust of the touring. The food was great all around, all meals and service was impeccable in their open air, treehouse like restaurant. The rooms... more

Jambo, My Husband and I, along with a group of 14 stayed 3 nights at the Shaba Sarova Lodge in sept 2008. The lodge itself is located on a beautiful river in a beautiful setting. The rooms were clean, just in need of refurbishment. The dining room was a beautiful open room. The food was pretty good, but all buffet... more

not so good as the other lodges we had stayed in through kenya although the lodge itself was lovely and the setting beautiful i found the staff not overly friendly apart from our waitress who was adding a little more to our drinks bill at dinner without our knowlege and the food was just ok unlike other sarova lodges where... more

We stayed at Sarova Game lodge for 2 nights during our honeymoon. The hotel was gorgeous as was our room, very reasonably sized with the river right beyond the patio area at the back. We were very lucky to have elephants come down to the other side of the river to wash which made us have the most amazing close... more

The Sarova Shaba was an amazing place. The rooms were built in treehouse like buildings. We were in room 12a upstairs, it was huge and beautiful. The view of the river was great. We would watch the huge storks and crocodiles on the river banks, while the vervet monkeys played in the trees. The pool area was great and refreshing... more

Came late in the afternoon after a long drive from Nairobi. Too late for an afternoon game drive. But the staff were waiting for us and had ready a very welcomed moist towel and a wonderful late lunch. The logde is situated next to the river Ewaso Ngiro in a wooded environment that gives a welcomed shade. Running water around... more

We can happily give the thumbs up to this absolutely wonderful lodge. It is idyllic and what excellent value for money. It was the perfect start for our 6 day safari with Somak and can happily recommend this oasis. Bugs...what Bugs? What a truly amazing place it is and would most certainly stay there again..just wonderful more
