Absolute the most luxury lodge we stayed on. Everything from the service, food, rooms, location is perfect. SERVICE Like everywhere else in Kenya the service is great. Everbody is so friendly, helpful and service-minded. FOOD Absolutely high-quality buffet. There is everything you need. ROOMS The room is big with three beds. The toilet is also big and functional. Samburu Serena Lodge is a fantastic lodge located in the paradise of the Samburu National Park. There were 8 of us in our group, and we stayed at the lodge at the end of Oct this year. We loved it! For me it was the best lodge I have stayed in and I have been to quite a few lodges... more

The Samburu Serena Lodge is situated along a river. During our stay here we saw a crocodile basking in the sun, elephants outside our room (literally) and monkeys playing by the pool. The monkeys were great fun to watch, they took sips of water from the swimming pool and you were always left wondering what they would do next. On... more

Samburu Serena was one of three Serenas on our trip (we also stayed at Ngorongoro Serena and Mara Serena). While we really loved the common areas of the lodge, the setting along the river and the monkeys and baboons on your doorstep, the rooms here were our least favorite of the three Serenas. The room was decorated nicely, but it... more

This is a fantastic place to stay! Our room was right on the riverbank with crocodiles basking on the mudbank in the river just opposite our front door! Meanwhile, monkeys and lizards dashed about right on our doorstep, oblivious to our presence and not posing a threat to us at all. The bar overlooks the river and serves a mean... more

Very nice hotel! Friendly staff, clean room & food is not bad. There is a river outside our room - a crocodile there & we saw over 10 monkeys walking outside our room (one by one)! No worries, the monkeys are not attacking people at all. We took photos & they played around & walked pass. Bird feeding near restaurant... more

We stayed at the Serena in June as the first part of our Safari Honeymoon in Kenya. It was a great welcome to a beautiful country. Lovely lodges, clean and tidy, Elephants outside your door (literally), amazing food and very friendly staff. Would certainly recommend it as part of a honeymoon as the game drives are slightly shorter (approx 3... more

Fantastic Lodge! There weren't any insects crawling or flying around in the room, probably because we did spray some insect repellent before leaving for our safari in the evening. The room overlooked the river banks, and it was quite an authentic feel of the African wilderness. The crocodile(s) that visited us on two nights were of a ferocious size and... more

we stayed at 5 serenas during our tour and this was our all around favorite. the hotel was very slow with less than 10% occupancy due to all the political turmoil. one day we were the only vehicle in samburu. they recycled the food quite often with the low tourist numbers and i ate tuna for 5 meals in a... more
