My family and I have just returned from a 2 week safari with Specialised Safaris and we spent our first several days here at Sasaab Lodge !! The accommodations were perfect and the staff were incredible at every turn. We were treated so well in fact that when they knew my son's birthday was happening during our stay, they surprised... I just took my 11 year old grandaughter on her dream trip to Kenya. I've been to Kenya 3 times in the last 5 years. I always feel comfortable when I am there: safe and well cared for, even though there are sometimes travel advisories. We got to spend 5 days at Sasaab which is a super long time in... More

Margaret and Ron are the excellent hosts-managers of this extraordinary, beautiful and luxurious safari retreat in Samburu. We were assigned the Honeymoon tent, which was very special, although calling this dwelling with its own plunge pool a "tent" is like calling a Maserati "transportation". Elephants visible on the river below our tent. Our drivers/guides/spotters were Michael and Eric and they... More

Have just had the most amazing time at Sasaab. The lodge blends so well with the surroundings but internally has the most amazing Morrocan design. Glamping is a complete understatement! Margaret and Ron were the most welcoming hosts, treating us to a sundowner on leopard rock where we watched the sun set on the beautiful Samburu, a night dining under the... More

Its taken us a while to write this review, but this “camp” was so memorable that we felt we needed to share our views. We stayed for 4 nights in February 2013. We have done several other safaris, staying in similar “luxury” safari camps in Kenya and Tanzania. The service at this camp is what made this a standout experience... More

As most people step out of their vehicles and into the Sasaab tented lobby, they gasp. The lodge is a wonder - a plush Swahili resort hanging on a cliff in the middle of the bush. The architectual feat aside, the attention to detail makes Sasaab a 5-star experience. Every meal is tortured over, the chef putting together gourmet salads,... More

The standard was so high, I was so pleased I had pre-empted and brought good clothes to wear to dinner, as evening dining matched the great dining around the world. The accommodation was private, and resembled Santorini, but even better. If 5 star is the ultimum, this achieved it comfortably. The associated safari with a stay here is very interesting.... More

What a place! The set up is truly magical, the 5 star tents along the river and the individual plunge pools are remarkable in the middle of the remote Kenyan north making it a true adventure glamping safari! We had the most pleasant stay in sasaab and thank you so much Ron and Margaret and the rest of the sasaab... More

Instantly upon arrival at Sassab our Kenyan manager Doug and his Australian wife Tanya made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Sipping our welcome drinks looking at the beautiful white area they call the “mess” where you can dine and relax was as refreshing as the cold flannels to wash our face with. Teamed with their Assistant Manager Mark whom... More

From the moment we landed on the hot dusty airstrip at Sasaab we knew we were somewhere special. The lodge hosted by brilliant and infinitely patient Tanya and Doug is the most exotic place that I personally have ever been. Our rooms were utterly stunning with plunge pools for cooling down and views of mountains, sky and the vital river... More
